@b_traven Perhaps 'reporting' isn't the best word here. S. Hersh wrote on his blog ( not for eg New Yorker) a story heard from one source , so it couldn't be verified or contrasted ...

Do you mean Zeit journalist investigation? Nothing decisive, they say that could not identify the perpetrators nationality.
5
Which people pls? (Go ahead)
4
And you accuse APN of incompetence?
4
What makes you think Europe is scared of Putin? I think different countries vary in their support of Ukraine, but not because of being scared - stil, apart of Hungary , they stand together. Also, there isn't homogeneous West, but all the Western countries with one exception stand on Ukraine's side.
4
@lockbert99 "the USA leaders happy about sth that hurts Germany" Hadn't EU countries, including Germany, decided not to buy Russian gas (meantime Russia was manipulating the supply...)? The fact that the automatic locks didn't work when the leaks happened is suspicious, isn't it? It looks Russia isn't repairing the pipes ...another clue.

It's an attack or sabotage (to make harm to the opponent), but without exposing the author (without taking responsibility), might be via military means (blowing up) or without, like cyber attack.
3
@bouji_ I appreciate your giving me pass, but just to clarify : at the time we're talking about there were no sanctions on Russian gas import (actually there's no ban up to day) - it was Russia that was lowering the output, then trying to change the contract payment conditions , finally shutting off the supply for some countries. If it's not blackmail for you, add threats of nuclear strikes here and there.
3
@ultravioletiris6241 Buy a tank, SPG or IFV, or even ATGM 😂, I'll pay you double 🕺
3
Andy Woohoo You beat me just one minute 🤝 🙂
3
What were the conditions? also, perhaps the West learnt that Russians don't keep their word unless they're in a position they have to. ?
3
@Jimbo2193 So Russia - stop hitting (but for how long? some years?) (also, pulling out to where? to pre-2014 borders?) Ukraine - give up strong security guarantee, just after Russian attack. Not a fair deal for me, rather blackmail. in the first place, there wouldn't be any negotiations proposals, Minsk agreements etc problems if Russia hadn't started war (in 2014). If you say Russia shouldn't trust 'the West' , it also explains why Israeli proposal fell.
3
@Jimbo2193 "Russia annexed Crimea and then held a referendum" : your words, no MSM influence I suppose. -Do you think it is a way of conduct in international affairs ? BTW, 1957 it's Soviet Union time. In 1991, when Russia reappears, referendum, no problem with Sevastopol (a long term contract signed allowing Russia to use it). 1994, Budapest - neither. 🙄 Does it square you up ?
3
@Jimbo2193 Do you know who is Igor Girkin aka Strelkov ?
3
@Jimbo2193 Well, you could say Crimea was part of the Russian empire, but it wasn't Russia, like many countries that regained independence. (unless you agree president Putin is another Peter the Great to retake parts of the late empire (what about Alaska ?)) Would you equally say Russia is part of Mongolia, because it was part of the empire created by Ginghis Han ? Do you know any source to confirm the hmmm... idea of "no move of NATO eastwards"? Why would B. Yeltsin then say and sign Russia has nothing against of the access of Poland in 1999? Also, if you go off topic , do you know how many Ukrainians "worship" S. Bandera (and why?) ?
3
@lockbert99 Some EU countries (not all) do buy Russian gas - however for capped prices, what makes a difference. Russia did turn their gas off (with various excuses), but that blackmail didn't work. The locks not working for their purpose is a strong clue, as I wrote.
3
What would come soon pls?
3
How can it make collapse EU ? You say it after December 2022 ?
3
Meat grinder.
3
@limedickandrew6016 Could you say/prove who exactly "was pointing the finger"? I remember Ukraine was saying so, while other allies opted for "strayed Ukrainian air defence missile". I cannot remember any confirmation of that published.
3
Why in 2014 "they weren't there" in Crimea and Donbas? Litvinenko, Skripals, ...
3
Have you got any arguments or only calling names ?
3
@Nathan666 No argument I see. Any comment about Russia's way of treating of its own citizens , throwing hundreds and thousands into meat grinders ?
3
@Nathan666 Do you simply reject any opinion or fact that differs from your point of view? Any source referring to who "begged" and why ? What UN charter do you mean? UN didn't not recognise the 'quasi republics' Ukraine is the aggressor? How? Hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers are dying in defence of their country, ther homes, their relatives. What are Russian soldiers fighting and dying for ?
3
Oh, really?
2
Because it wasn't paying anything, as Russia had closed the tap. And the blackmail didn't work ...
2
@utubeballbag No, no, Can't you remember Russia had to do some maintenance work in the summer? (and even didn't pick up the compressor that Germany got back from Canada, 🥺 circumventing their own (EU) sanctions ?) The fact that the gas was flowing after the explosions is another suspicious sign: the locks that normally in such situation cut off the flow - continued to be open for a long time.
2
IF
2
Simple - Are there more Americans (or Europeans) emigrating to Russia or Russians to the USA (or the EU)? Why?
2
@lockbert99 What is the problem with the repair , replacing damaged sections of the gas pipes, pls?
2
Do you believe Russia is a puppet of "the West" ? impotent to act in such way? Or is V. V. Putin an agent of any secret service? Which one?
2
@Nathan666 Where it is from ... 🙄
2
😀
1
@lockbert99 It looks that Russians disabled the locks on purpose, to achieve bigger effect making the sabotage visible Here is how Russia benefits from it - blackmail (and sowing doubts whether it was US, UA or other to divide the coalition). That the pipes are on the floor of the see is a technical question (somehow lying them there was possible) I think only a part is filled with water, the locks eventually worked.
1
@lockbert99 "NATO apparently wanted Nord Stream to be blown up"? Do you have any confirmation, source? What do you mean by "NATO" here? I don't think Germany, a member of NATO, did want that. May be some people, but eg Turkey ? Portugal ? Italy ? Bulgaria ? Hungary ??
1
@lockbert99 Blowing up the pipeline is escalating much above turning the tap off. It's a violent way to say 'Look! No gas if you do not do what is good for the gas provider' Not a joke.
1
@lockbert99 Have you seen Zeit article about their journalist investigation? They say that identified the boat, but couldn't identify the identity/nationality of the perpetrators team.
1
Seriously, is this Russia war any good ? for the Russians?
1
China is far, too...
1
is Russia far ?
