@kenyon3556 I would say that Top Gun Maverick too but not identical even the other latter is not identical. Return Of The Jedi was the first one to do it.

@jean-mi1825 Yes I agree.

@Bell2323 That's because The Force Awakens was part of the Star Wars franchise so more hyoe, they both have things in common though they do borrow narrative threads from A New Hope, which I don't know why Top Gun Maverick had to do that though I've only noticed some things at first I just found it hyped. I think both are ok.

@RyderRazor Sometimes British titles have alternatives like some films.

@nickmontoya3001 I mean I don't think Top Gun is great but the sequel I didn't buy into the hype I find it slightly overrated.

@BFA100 In some of the narrative parts I would say he's right, but I mean I didn't even notice that much but I still found it a bit hyped.

@samuelzins5089 Yeah but why borrow the death star storyline not only it's been done twice before in Star Wars films why a Top Gun film? I didn't think it was a bad film no but the narrative I found a bit derivative, however I do understand it's importance as a film that came out when Covid was around.

@SnailMaster I found it a bit hyped.

@samuelzins5089 I still found some things well-made, the cinematography I will agree on, Miles Teller’s performance I liked and the scenes with Val Kilmer I found interesting yet sad due to actor’s real life medical problems. For me it’s all about story I didn’t find it great I found it ok just a bit hyped.
