It all depends look at many sequels nowadays we keep getting more and more sequels including MCU still the being biggest franchise. A box office bomb doesn't always necessarily mean it's bad or that if it is a hit it's good this is not always an interesting analysis to make. I agree on Batman and Robin, Mortal Kombat Annihilation, The Chronicles Of Riddick, Terminator: Dark Fate, Dark Phoenix, Independence Day : Resurgence, Zoolander 2, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, Evan Almighty and Son Of The Mask being bad films but not because they bombed, I agree there's always a risk with sequels but the box office is a bit of a boring point to make.
