  2.  @fenrir-art4742  Well I understand that two of them were derivative I think, the other I know it’s a new way of telling a story from a particular source though I think that in a way is a bit derivative too, but story from that some elements I found a bit contrived. I term them as ok because I can praise the cinematography for all 3 I think, two I can praise also the supporting actor area except though I think one is slightly better in that area.

  7. @Sandra Prowell  I've not seen Everything Everywhere All At Once RRR and the honorable mentions so I'm a hypocrite for criticising on the blockbuster ones I was referring more to that.

  9. So yeah not seen RRR, The Woman King, Everything Everywhere All At Once and most of the honorable mentions. I've seen others on list so before people get defensive about Top Gun Maverick I do not hate the film but if you look at it narratively I think it's not a great film the success of it is a bit puzzling not saying original was great either. Sure it's better than the rest of blockbusters but that's not saying much it's an ok film I think. I can praise it's cinematography like with The Batman and supporting actors though with Top Gun Maverick I can only praise for one whereas with other one i will say two. The Banshees Of Inisherin well-made but weird I think In Bruges is better, Black Panther Wakanda Forever watchable just like Avatar The Way Of Water. Guillermo Del Toro's Pinnochio was interesting but a bit of a weird voice cast.

  15. @Pablo Ruiz  I mean sigh Top Gun Maverick ain't a bad film no but I'm not gonna lie I saw Star Wars A New Hope in story which that's a bit derivative praise of it and success of was odd. Cinematography yes that's fine along with Miles Teller's performance and some elements in story were interesting. Again The Batman yes for cinematography and best supporting actor area well Paul Dano as The Riddler though he only appears at the end and Jeffrey Wright as Jim Gordon small role. Story is a bit problematic. Thor Love and Thunder what was there to expect? I mean it wasn't that bad it wasn't great either Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness is the worst MCU film of the year.

  16. @This profile pic is a kitty boi  Yeah Success of Top Gun Maverick was a bit odd I agree. When The Batman came out it was praised as being a masterpiece but nowadays I get the feeling you can call anything a masterpiece, like with Top Gun Maverick I think cinematography is good and I like two of the supporting actors which are Paul Dano as The Riddler and Jeffrey Wright as Lieutenant Gordon though their roles are small. With Top Gun Maverick I like Miles Teller in it but for me it boils down to story from both, now with Top Gun Maverick again it's nostalgia fueled with the original Top Gun and Star Wars in narrative which that's why I don't think it's great. The Batman, it's story I found a bit contrived maybe.
