@White-Dragon I think George Lucas didn’t think a lot of it through when writing Episode 6 and then transferring it later on in Episode 3.

@white-dragon4424 Well I think it's the real answer also, the thing is The Return Of The Jedi people forget how kinda weak the film is well of the original trilogy and it also started the whole kiddie friendly thing which were the ewoks though oddly not named in the film. I do agree on the emotional weight that does work apart from rehashing elements of A New Hope which that has been done now more than once Star Wars or no Star Wars. The Empire Strikes Back though that is considered a classic wasn't that well received at first people forget that also.

@white-dragon4424 Puppet director that's an interesting term I find but the irony is Lucas was against the system at his peak but then he went the other direction. I mean others that were considered for directorial duties for Episode 6 were David Lynch, David Cronenberg it would have been a very unique take on Star Wars if either of them took the job. Steven Spielberg was considered also but he was a part of a director's guild that complicated matters though apparently he shot bits of Revenge Of The Sith, which oddly enough that was first title for Episode 6 then last minute decision change to Return.

@white-dragon4424 Oh yeah he's a genius on a business side and what he did for Star Wars merchandise I agree on that also. Star Wars was mostly aimed for kids from the start but I think it reached a wider audience which was a surprising factor I've noticed that George Lucas only directed the original and prequels from franchise well I think if one knows about the production story it was very stressful which gave him hypertension so post that he only wrote and produced stuff until prequel era Special Editions also I think are a bit mixed for some people and other revised home media versions of the films.

Not seen Batterfield Earth but know of its reputation and The Butterfly Effect not seen either along with last two films in the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
