  9.  @Barney_Rubble247  Many counties have their national day when colonialism ended, Australia's is when colonialism started. They were two previous dates that were celebrated as Australia Day before Jan 26 was adopted. Jan 26 was not celebrated as Australia Day until 1935. Therefore it took 147 years before it was adopted and only 88 years since it was adopted. Has Australia changed since 1935?

  17.  @lastjellyontheplate8828  How did you get implication that I think all indigenous people are angels? As a general rule rule African's did not sell their own people into slavery. They captured and sold people from other tribes or cultures. The fact that you appear to think all Africans are the same is disturbing. It was not just old white men who pushed to end slavery. It was people of all races, ages and sexes that worked to end slavery. Again a disturbing view of history you have. How is changing a divisive date going to stop anyone from having a happy and fulfilling life?
