  1. The US debt ceiling was last raised in 2021. It was raised 3 times under Trump, with bipartisan support. In fact Trump said “I can't imagine anybody ever even thinking of using the debt ceiling as a negotiating wedge." The only time the debt ceiling has been opposed by the Republicans, was under Obama and now Biden. Go figure. By the way 25% of US debt occurred under Trump.
