@samopalvampirenvonbutlegin8603 There were no states or countries in Australia for 65 000 years as defined by western definitions. Yet the indigenous people had well defined areas where they lived. Why are you imposing your western views on other people? I can't believe that all indigenous people became Western and Christian in 1788?

@samopalvampirenvonbutlegin8603 You are totally changing the subject. Whether you are right or not this has nothing to with the Australian curriculum. Nobody has the responsibility to learn history and pass exams. That is a personal choice. Which version of Christianity do you think should be included?

@samopalvampirenvonbutlegin8603 What happens if they don't pass the exams? They remain in school for ever? Why Christianity? According to the 2016 census only 52% of Australian residents claim to be Christian. Which is down on the 2011 census. I expect when the 2021 census results are revealed it will be under 50% if the trend continues.

@samopalvampirenvonbutlegin8603 Who officially designates some who fails their exams as functionally illiterate. Their are many types of literacy, but you don't appear to know that. Please do some research. Have a think about all the advancements in science before before Western culture or Christianity even existed.

@PJRayment Wow so much to unpack here for a single post. I will only deal with your first assertion in this post. 'That the left have managed to marginalise Christianity......." You have evidence for your claim? But, perhaps the percentage of Christians is dropping because people of other cultures and religions have starting immigrating to Australia, since the racist White Australia police was dropped. And/or perhaps people are better educated now, more scientific literal, taught critical thinking so they are able to make decisions for themselves rather just simply believe what they are told.

@PJRayment "What advancements in science? It was Christians who invented science." The current scientific method was adopted in the 17th century. It did not turn up in one day as science has been evolving for millions of years, even before Homo sapiens appeared. The invention of stone tools, the control of fire, the invention of spears, pottery, farming, domestication of animals, use of metals, wheels, buildings, irrigation, boats etc all appeared before the Jews adopted and adapted the Babylonian religion.

@James.E41 It appears that you think Western European Christianity was the start of civilisation. Yet you ignore the invention of stone tools, the origins of language, controlling fire, the first pottery, the first cities, the first use of metals, farming, domestication of animals, written language, numeral systems, the invention of the wheel etc all before Western Europeans existed or got out of the stone age or Christianity was invented. Some of those things happened millions of years ago.

@Eye of HorusYour are you ignoring that all those inventions and others had nothing to do with Western Europeans. They only learnt them from other people. Imagine if Western Europe was isolated for 65 000 years. The best we could could claim is that they wouldn't be Christian.
