@animalfarm7467 I think you will find an increasing number of Democrats are rejecting the plutocrats and their money. Not enough of them I will grant you. When was the last time a Republican rejected their money.

Assange was arrested for the violation of breaching his bail conditions in England. It has nothing to do with freedom of the press or the First Ammendment. If you are gong to be indignant at least be accurate.

I used to agree but when he became political and picked one side in the 2016 election I started to have doubts.

@Ronni3no2 No you are right, there is no evidence but a suspicion (my apologies) as he had contact with Trump jnr and Stone in the run up to the election. This is along side with obviously being in contact with the Russians makes his motives dubious at best. What's a borscht?

@jollyyeholiver1578 Really, and your source is?

@jollyyeholiver1578 Lets just deal with the facts. 7 years ago Assange was arrested in England over a Swedish charge of sexual assault, he was granted bail. He skipped bail and went into hiding for seven years. After losing protection from Ecuador he was arrested and charged with breaching bail conditions and remanded in jail. If found guilty he could face up to 1 year of imprisonment. To my knowledge the US has not applied for extradition. If and probably when they do the England being a country of law will have no choice but to hold an extradition hearing, where Assange will have legal council to defend himself against the application. In the event he is extradited the US can't add any extra charges after the extradition or impose the death penalty.

@jollyyeholiver1578 You had knowledge of something that I didn't. But you didn't tell the whole story. She said Assange had been arrested for breaking bail conditions and because the US had requested extradition. Obviously the US has made that request. But as I said England has a rule of law and thus they would of have no choice but to arrest him for that also. It was not a political decision, despite how gleeful May was, but a law enforcement decision. Exactly the same as Canada had to face when the US applied for extradition of the Chinese tech company. (This has resulted in the arrest of two Canadians in China, who don't have a rule of law). I agree with your last paragraph. Just remember it is possible to get something wrong or not know all the facts and not be lying.

@jollyyeholiver1578 You have accused me of lying and my sordid helping of monsters. Do you still believe this? If so give me evidence. If not I hope you are big enough to apologise.
1
@jollyyeholiver1578 I didn't ask for an apology, I just pointed out that I wasn't lying. I believe if you have to lie to defend your position then you know you are wrong. I'm not sure if I actually gave my position on Assange. If all he did was report on what was hacked then that is not a crime. If he participated in the hacking then that is a crime and he should be prosecuted, whether we think what he reported was good or not. I was also disappointed he appeared to chose sides in the 2016 election.

@jollyyeholiver1578 I wan't giving my opinion I was citing (well not exactly) the law. In fact if I had the ability to hack and found war crimes I would release it, but knowing I would probably go to jail. The US needs greater protection for whistler blowers.

@Ronni3no2 There is evidence, but not proof as yet that he conspired with the Russians to affect the election.
