Excellent work! My company is one of those working on photonics/quantum compute InFlight as optical networks transit the world. Though quite different, great progress has been made.

I think India has such great opportunity, but so many times in the cusp of great success it’s stolen away by foolish moves by government policy, corruption or other greed. I certainly agree with medical and I think there is even greater opportunity. We were in the middle of telecom/semiconductor negotiations when foolish moves killed opportunity. In Thailand they do have supplemental insurance that’s quite affordable, with private hospital systems.

Excellent review of attack surfaces in hardware design and foundry.

Bubble Tea Industry is far more important than SMIC 7nm and more world changing. Likely connected to former Taiwan sugar industry? Go for the Bubble Tea domination and determination to spread it globally.

Indian Pharma would not exist without Western support and development. It is subsidized at this point, but reality is if Indian Government and corruption can screw thongs up, it will. I hate to say that, but it comes from experience. India could have been a powerhouse decades ago, but it gets bound up. Let’s hope Pharma does not end up the same way.

Antenna design in cell phones and radio circuits related to 5G. I’m not sure about frequency designations in Taiwan, but design considerations are interesting. iPhone struggled with antenna design.

@dogukan127 While all that is true about market economy functionality and their intention with Digital RMB being tied to their non market economy their is a reason they had to lower poverty rate to $1.65 a day. They still have one foot in market economies and depend on trade and infusion of outside capital. In many regions starvation is starting to be a problem is small pockets here and there. The entire central planing system and method on enforcement creates a false economy besides all of the inherent issues which magnify the farther you are from the coasts. I get reports from inside China as well and poverty has increased in many regions dramatically. Unrest in PLA retirees is growing among other issues inside the PLA itself which rarely get reported as pensions get cut or go unpaid at times now. The internal CCP documents leaked have been appearing globally on various tops over the last several weeks. I get at least three a week.

UPI is designed as a population control program and is a sort of CBDC without the other trappings. It’s actually worse than that the Digital ¥. It is, as you pointed out, a surveillance scheme. The totalitarian potential in India with its vast corruption there will be a disaster for privacy. The recent telecom price hikes and mess created by regulators is going to create a host of issues.

The world expert on plasmas was someone I knew and worked with. He worked with most of these companies as a consultant.

This was a great topic and I suggest you expand the JIO also coming from Reliant the fiber to the home(FTH) Business which Facebook also invested in as well.

Quantum annealers exist now and are growing in qubit numbers. We are developing new quantum process chips based on a hybrid technology.

Good presentation

@浦和-f5y Then China stabbed in back like Taiwan and India and so many more...same old corrupt story...
1
I’m the guy that is taking down Tencent that stole IP from me! That’s who I am! The party is just getting started on global lawsuits.
1
@浦和-f5y play stupid games win stupid prizes. Neither China or Russia are “super powers” in the fullest sense. Not to say there are serious issues to address in the US, but systemic top to bottom corruption plagues both of them. We tend to get issues with primary contractor cost over runs and so on, but not the same issues top to bottom as China and Russia.
1
@4xello199 yes, but that is not available universally in India. It’s boutique medical business.
1
Great job as usual.

Awesome content and interesting.

This video made me thirsty.

We’ll be establishing engineering offices in Taiwan soon and I’m planning on buying a home in Taiwan. I’ve worked previously licensing our comms products for manufacture in Taiwan and sale in SE Asia.

I don’t disagree with you, BUT US consumers/insurers are paying for that cheap product because universal health care countries are getting subsidized breaks. India has benefited from development then taken internally and breaking patents. This is still using the US Consuner to finance India…and Japan and EU. HOWEVER, drug companies are also able to fight back and create a different development model. So no excuses for big pharma either. India could and is harming part of its drug development business just like US big pharma is. Only this is from a country perspective.

The data center is impacted, but new edge compute

China’s subsidized rare earth production is just one of China’s self inflicted debt traps encumbering it’s future. US, Australian and Malaysian rare earth sources. US has production capacity/technology along with Australia. China’s ability to subsidize has evaporated.

Dr. Goodenough(sp?) the co-inventor of Li Ion has been working on low temp Na and has made a prototype that’s been developed over the last few years. Dr Goodenough is nearly 100 years old.

Well, China’s problem with Bank of International Settlements losing SDRs as well as FX position with other economic woes are intractable under the CCP. All of the semiconductor nonsense is just noise.
1
@johnl.7754 That has been the model, but in the end the risks and lack of diversity of options actually limited innovation of the end producer. Competition is the mother of invention.
1
Point of correction: China has no sustainable pension for old age, except government workers that are pitiful and have been cut in the last two years. China is beginning to face issues plus high younger people unemployment. I AGREE KOREA DID NOT PLAN FOR TAKING CARE OF THE ELDERLY. I think it is a very sad problem, but I think Korea needs to consider honoring elders.
1
@Asianometry Me too, but I also have a car. I expect to be Taiwan, but depends on issues. We’re doing a Super Computer instal. I believe I’ll be buying a home in Taiwan possibly too.

More like a patheticator Chinese movies are pathological. They are losers and even when they produce those films. Laoway86 and SerpentZA You Tubers have gone through Chinese films and they are pathetic to be kind. They Chinese language analysis is that they are horrible, the effects are terrible and poorly executed. I’m sorry, the films are not good, Namewee has made great fun of the films as has other Chinese filmmakers Xi Jinping has destroyed any chance, but over all production quality and is awful and there just crappy effects. I’m sorry, I’ve look at this in detail and it’s a mess. I work with interactive products and will be in Taiwan soon. I work with Red Digital Cinema Cameras in our interactive tools do our entire super computer project has a “Hollywood” component to it along with the digital processing of content and language processing including visual content. We’ve been at this for nearly 40 years. The reason we’ve chosen Taiwan is technology and close to other areas we’re working in such as India, Korea and Japan as well as throughout SE Asia.

@RERM001 A group of North Korean Defectors on YT regularly share. Yeonmi Park did so.
1
@Ofasia777 I just did and it’s abundant with lots of data pouring out today.
1
Check Yeonmi Park’s “In Order to Live” the faring info is not entirely accurate presented here and tractors are nearly non existent.
1
Excellent presentation. I’ve been working on “light valve” computing for well over two decades. It’s particularly useful in new areas including quantum computing.
1
Not only illuminating, but quantifying the facts by shinning a light on micro LEDs.

Does China matter anymore? Within the last 24-48 hours most Chinese students have been called home and Cultural Revolution 2 seems well underway with other moves taken lately. Board manufacturing slowly moving out of China, Russia now said it would defend Taiwan as an independent nation...Formosa Plastics is Taiwanese Owned is it not? I may have missed your comment. With Xi Jinping moving to move most tech to only SOEs who notoriously fail and now with major investors from real estate essentially bankrupt being the largest developers in China and so far no bail out.
1
Great job covering this challenging subject.
1
Very sad story.
1
Expect most of China’s fab build out to be constrained as housing market collapse is well underway. The RMB poised to free fall no matter what the PBOC does. India’s political situation is going to impact its semiconductor dreams as it just trashed huge telecom advances.
1
The substructure of subscription service and cable is problematic and structure of content quality expectations and network operational issues. When lots of people watch the same show at about the same time it’s better CDN utilization. Better quality delivered to the device. Now ATSC 3 and interactive TV and localized Over the Air two way content. Less costly than internet traffic delivery. Things will change.

I don’t use any of the Google, Twitter etc to access the Internet, but China controls and blocks. The reality is China helped create the Giants into the platform monstrosity they are, but now WEB3, real web3 changing all communication architecture to original self healing fully distributed model, now including in permission-less financial layer blockchain of archival data destroys the China model. WE CREATED THIS CONVERGED COMMUNICATION RESTRUCTURE IN 1999 BEFORE BICOIN, but now it launches anew. The US DOJ in a series of abusive actions actually give rise to China’s telecom and theft culture destroying greats like Nortel, Lucent and French Companies...we suffered theft of IP including WeChat’s transaction core and much more used at Huawei. DOJ destroyed American companies in an effort to get 2 bad actors and an ego driven Andrew Weismann, who has a book written about his corruption.
1
I worked as Director of Development at an SGI major integrator and we later added Sun Microsystems and I become CTO of a Telecom Manufacturer who pattered with one that hand licensed equipment manufactured in Taiwan.
1
This model does cut a lot of the “corruption,” but centralized power only expands corruption in the end. I’m not saying this will happen, but it’s a risk.

Deep learning and AI networks are in great conflict based on “neural network” and it’s value due to energy required even in improved designs. “Wet Works” enters into the discussion and consideration of these and if these projects miss the mark on true human like recognition. New optical and “spike” vision models are emerging operating far differently than many current designs. Matrix multiplication is being challenged by new thinking. CalTech and multiple other companies are now creating projects and chip designs.
1
So now with claw back of “bonuses” paid to CCP Officials, Teachers, and more as it appears the Premier suggests cash is tight at Central Government. Today’s stock market move in China suggest more is afoot, what is the other show to drop? Rumor is that money from Billionaires is being taken too as well as other operational money.
1
India has shoot its self in the foot in telecom a few months back killing fiber build out of Jio and doubling rates. The funding and tax models have hurt the rise and development of a people out of poverty and middle class. Now Cryptocurrency tax drove developers to other SE Asia markets and USA along with new fiber development group out of India three months ago. Both corruption and crazy taxation seem to collapse India on the cusp of break put success. At least pharma is solid for now.
