Johnathan, I think the issue is Russia does not really have a culture they are proud of, without the need to wholesale claim as “Russian” other adjacent cultures to legitimize the EMPIRE RUSSIA! They feel naked without the theft of other cultural iconography and symbols. This is essential to Russian existence and its own sense of legitimacy as empire. Tucker Carlson needs a similar legitimizing of his own inane and irrational thinking and must adopt Russian Moral Family Friendly nonsense as compatible with evangelical ideology even when it’s clearly not. Ukraine is more “Christian” and has more evangelical Christian identity than the entirety of Russia. Frankly, these religious groups are often often forbidden in Russia, but Tuck ignores that inconvenient truth.

  20. Excellent interview! I think that what needs to be recognized is the Maoist efforts creating “woke and other society struggle session ideology” as a weapon, in Ukraine, in the EU and Briton. We need to capture liberal democratic republic values. We need to find common ground with “populists” creating a common goal. Ukraine is teaching us a lot.

  25. Putin’s agreement with Oligarchs and Citizens was always vulnerable. Real Russian Empire was always hanging on by a thread. Ukraine culture did produce real technological explosion. Ukraine help from aerospace engineers aided China’s space program. Without Ukraine input they will flounder. Ukraine culturally help build a solid culture. For EU the Ukrainian focus on faith and family will befit moderation in both leftist and rightest extremism. It was the war that focused Ukraine and may open up the rest of the world to moderation of the “religion of extremism” and hopeful build a more helpful EU recognizing national culture and autonomy within an economic cooperative block.

  30. At this point Russia is desperate as gas wells, oil wells and refineries begin to fail. Recovering the gas wells is on the edge of a decade or longer recovery. Russia was and is dependent Western Petroleum Services and engineering. Colorado, Wyoming and the Dakotas have a huge concentration of engineers. Yes, Texas figures in there too, but more concentration of services business. Colorado seems to have one of the highest concentration of Petroleum Engineers and new graduates except for Norway. gCaptain, a shipping trade, identified tanker shipping capacity along with multiple others including tanker specific news letters tell the story. There is not the capacity in tanker fleet to support serious Russia exports to Russia and China. The key is without service and support Siberia gas wells and they fail if flow rate not maintained. All of the industry needs service support and parts. Gas wells need care NOW!

I look to Ukraine to use their considerable engineering talent to bring new weapons into the fight. He supported rather progressive immigration reform, but LEFT BLOCKED IT. As one partially Mexican I take exception. I grew up in a multiracial upper middle class neighborhood outside LA. I worked in Watts. What I can say Soviet and CCP have stirred up racist nonsense. Macron, Vald Vexler and more criticize Woke nonsense and intolerance.   46. Well, we have the corporate jets, but when moving high salary engineers it is an economic decision. Not wasting productive engineering time in airports, long cues and fatigue is more beneficial to all. We have a variety of ethic mix from polish to Indian to Chinese and Russian. Our technology enhances the distributed structure more in line with sovereign individual, liberty and free speech. My feeling is these technological shifts move from centralized administrative state which is often authoritarian in inclination. However, these immutable rights were established in law, the US Constitution. Where ignored the US freedom has been weakened. These personal rights were established as Natural Rights immutable “God given” to human kind. The political ideology and understanding evolved from previous European and British political philosophers. The roots of the understanding self sovereignty go all the way back to The Reformation in part. The Royal capture of the religious and human rights foundation of reformation resulted in a “half” renewal of personal freedom. Since the KGB controlled the Russian Orthodox Church, the moral component and personal responsibility of freedom were under developed. Russian Oligarchs I would suggest that the incomplete Reformation in England set the stage for moral weakness in the British Empire. This weakness created was incomplete understanding of human natural rights. With incompleteness created a corrupted legal system. This fostered oligarchy and the “royalty” of “new money” Russian or otherwise. I would posit it’s not underfunding of Law Enforcement. It is the problem of the understanding of Natural and God given rights of all mankind. This moral component which has been weakened in the US over the recent decades is critical. Setting people truly free from class and limits of achievement was only partially imposed in much of the West. We have to address these partial limits. It creates wealth disparity on a wider scale. This “new money” class thus thrives in much of Europe and especially in London.

I’m 1000% supportive of Ukraine, but I know details behind Greenland and Canadian comments that do have to do with Ukraine. They are about stopping Russia and China as well as Arctic trade for Europe and US. When you think Trump is a 🤡 he’s made a fool of you because he’s dealing with the issues. The longstanding treaty obligations and military installations which are massive in Canada and Greenland go back to the 50s. They’re still maintained and operated. They’re part of NORAD.
