Concentration of petroleum engineers is in the US and there was heavy ongoing gas engineering involvement. The gas wells cannot be easily restored. It’s up to a ten year project to get failed wells going again. The harsh environment and processing to make the natural gas usable is not trivial. On the oil side, heavy Russian oil needs special refinery considerations. Turbo pumps only produced by GE in the US. Reagan has GE sabotage them which furthered the collapse of the USSR. No, the economy is not in good shape. Putin has poisoned the economic well for at least two decades. The evil he has perpetrated on Ukraine is even worse over the long term for Russians. They will have to come to terms with the evil Putin put on them. Economically, we discovered much of Putin’s Gold is paper gold hypothecated through derivatives. Putin is a self serving, self centered and pointless global player causing chaos. Less than 10% of Russians nukes likely work at only partial yield.
