  1. Johnathan, I think the issue is Russia does not really have a culture they are proud of, without the need to wholesale claim as “Russian” other adjacent cultures to legitimize the EMPIRE RUSSIA! They feel naked without the theft of other cultural iconography and symbols. This is essential to Russian existence and its own sense of legitimacy as empire. Tucker Carlson needs a similar legitimizing of his own inane and irrational thinking and must adopt Russian Moral Family Friendly nonsense as compatible with evangelical ideology even when it’s clearly not. Ukraine is more “Christian” and has more evangelical Christian identity than the entirety of Russia. Frankly, these religious groups are often often forbidden in Russia, but Tuck ignores that inconvenient truth.
