  2. @Silicon Curtin You are failing to understand how Putin has set Russia up for total collapse and spoiled the future for any successor. With all the oil service and engineering support pulled Russian petroleum infrastructure will collapse. It already is, particularly gas. The gas structure requires constant support, parts and more engineering problem solving. All the significant global and technically capable oil service companies are US domiciled. Concentration of petroleum engineers is in the US and there was heavy ongoing gas engineering involvement. The gas wells cannot be easily restored. It’s up to a ten year project to get failed wells going again. The harsh environment and processing to make the natural gas usable is not trivial. On the oil side, heavy Russian oil needs special refinery considerations. Turbo pumps only produced by GE in the US. Reagan has GE sabotage them which furthered the collapse of the USSR. No, the economy is not in good shape. Putin has poisoned the economic well for at least two decades. The evil he has perpetrated on Ukraine is even worse over the long term for Russians. They will have to come to terms with the evil Putin put on them. Economically, we discovered much of Putin’s Gold is paper gold hypothecated through derivatives. Putin is a self serving, self centered and pointless global player causing chaos. Less than 10% of Russians nukes likely work at only partial yield. We had a failed weapon in Russia the last few days. That has not been picked up on at all. Russia’s nukes are likely in worse shape than conventional arms. The fact is Russia infrastructure of all types is failing. The entire country has been spoiled for one or two generations. Only scraps of Russia will be left. The engineers needed just don’t exist in Russia anymore.
