  1. Apple is producing their own baseband modem in the SoC. If you recall, Intel was producing the baseband chip for Apple until they went back to Qualcomm until they had their own. I’m not suggesting that makes things any better, but something is also you need to consider Google has created new proprietary resources running in multiple phones.
