Lexus should never ditch their DOHC V8.

@EricLee_SiliconValley Highly disagree. It's the last DOHC NA V8 used. Why would they conform to competition rather than differentiate? Everything is not NA these days.

@siqongmason Yeah, asshole, because I have already owned turbocharged vehicles and it is physically IMPOSSIBLE to get them to be as reliable with the same amount of performance. And HELL YES will I take a DOHC NA V8 over a turbo I6 or V6.
8
@siqongmason Low-end torque? Hahahaha. Nothing kicks forced induction ass in this department better than a NA V8. Even the original 1UZ V8 produced its higj maximum torque at only 1250 rpm. Will never say sayounara to them.
7
@siqongmason Telling me to simmer down, eh? Hilarious considering how visibly triggered you are that you were wrong. Reliability should be left unsaid when speaking of forced induction engines. Decreased reliability is a given (that is, if you actually know what you're talking about). What's new with all these insecure commenters on YouTube...
7
@siqongmason The hell are you on about now? I just went as far back as possible. You're something else...
6
@siqongmason Not saying much? Hahaha. Really? I've still said more of substance than you have: Especially after you made a glaring mistake of saying NA V8s don't or can't produce torque like turbocharged engines and refuse to ever admit you were wrong. What an insecure douchebag you are. It's funny how many of you charlatans lurk on YouTube looking for arguments. I'll absolutely take my 2UR-GSE and be able to drive it for 800,000 trouble-free miles at with same performance as any equivalent performance turbocharged I6 or V6 and not get stuck paying $2-3k replacing the turbochargers every 150-200k miles.

@DragonKnightX12 We are talking about the luxury segment here, but I know Ford has their Voodoo. Blackwing doesn't count as it's not NA. If you wanted to expand it to everything, Hyundai's Tau V8 would also be included. But even that engine is going away soon, sadly.
5
@siqongmason Ha! Still dodging the fact that you made such a stupid mistake. Actions of a narcissistic charlatan. "Like you said..." Uh, no. You didn't say anything like that before. Yeah, more "efficient" forced induction and lower displacement engines come at a high cost of durability and reliability. This is also taking into account the increased expense of adding oil in the short term as the system burns it off in higher quantities. This is why I would not want to be in the EU complying to Euro regulations causing the standardization of 2.0L I4 and lower. This is clearly NOT hating anything "childishly". I feel sorry for you. Get a life.

@siqongmason No insults here, buddy. But there's plenty of evidence you are a narcissistic charlatan from your writing alone. Get help. Aaaand you're still trying to justify what you said to yourself. All the mental gymnastics possible won't change it. Of course, anyone with basic knowledge will know that forced in induction is superior performance wise: ALL ELSE HELD EQUAL. That is, given a NA I6, of course a turbo I6 will be this way. Likewise, all else held equal, a forced induction engine will have lower fuel efficiency. Period. The basic premise of forced induction is to emulate the performance of a NA engine with the next highest cylinder count. Turbo I6 is similar to a NA V8. BASIC logic here. If you actually read anything I said you would see that I'm in no way arguing that a forced induction V8 is inferior to a NA V8.

@siqongmason Narcissistic behavior at play. Shows that you did not bother to read the context of this thread. Especially that of Stan Curry's comment. I bet you've never admitted a mistake in your life. Edit: Your initial reply is so clearly a response to the questioned I posted in my previous comment. And so clearly a result of ignorance.

Nailed it.

@senorgato70 Hahaha. What bullshit. Another straw man argument. You can't read properly, buddy. Yes, you can drive a 2UR-GSE very hard and it will damn straight still be running in 20 years. I still drive my 2000 GS400 and it had been DEAD proper after 20 years. The 2UR is an even more refined evolution of the 1UZ. Have a friend with 2013 GS350 and about 150k miles. Never an issue. You will remain ignorant with this biased, numbers-driven, perspective.
3
@senorgato70 You just aren't able to understand Lexus. You are not their target. They target people who look beyond mere performance statistics and actually want something they can drive, drive hard, repair easily, and still have running in 20 years.
2
@alengreen589 You don't get it. This thing will outlast any German turbocharged car by decades.

And yet I'd rather have a Cayman over a 911 and an RC-F over an LC. Why? More fun and cheaper.

Ackj 375718 Not sure what you're trying to say here.
1
Don Boss Straw man? Never said anything like that. But, it will last 20 years with regular maintenance... including timing chain and any rubber (not a repair).
