Except the Textron bid is the best choice here: If you had any idea how much development the cartridge has been through. Textron is much further ahead compared to the other entrants.

Textron has many more development hours into theirs and is probably the likely winner.

9:44 You just lost me when you called the CT ammo untested. It's by far the most tested of the three. Do research properly before making such claims.

@preoximerias7366 Exactly my thoughts.

They are very determined to get 6.8mm. More unlikely to fail.
1
@Nicholas Rodriguez Yes. It absolutely does. The whole point of the project (and old LSAT) is to develop the new CT round and spend the money on the infrastructure which will offset future production costs and lighten loads for decades.
1
@Nicholas Rodriguez Riiiight. Feel insecure about my response which basically dismantled your uninformed BS? Maybe that's why you liked your own comment within seconds (I saw it).
1
@Nicholas Rodriguez You are an ignoramus. Of course the Army specified the 6.8 mm round. Textron is using previously researched tech with the LSAT program and this type of plastic isn't exactly difficult to produce. Once again, it is a present-day investment for future benefits: Real elementary economics here. Go back to school. It brings other minor associated benefits as well such as the prevention of enemy troops from reusing ammo as easily.

@Nicholas Rodriguez If you're above the age of 16 I would be surprised. I've talked to actual children who can hold more mature conversation. And you're so insecure you keep boosting your own comments with seconds. Laughable.
1
@Nicholas Rodriguez You never even had an argument. You immediately shifted to ad hominems and cutting off my head to stand taller. As children do. If you want to talk about why the government wouldn't ever front the money for such an investment: I'll direct you to the F-35 program. Or basically anything else that promises future cost reduction. Other people reading this: Now scroll back and witness an insecure manchild write short insults while I actually explain my position.
1
@jarred0301 You aren't familiar with it. There are minor problems that can be solved but Textron has the most R&D and refinement in their system.
1
Textron bid is absolutely the best choice due to the decade plus of development with the CT design and integration. They are far ahead with knowledge. 5:29 And why do things like these matter to people with a service rifle? Form > function. They are not designing it to look nice for tacticool lunatics in their backyards. Let's await the test results.
