These will be even more special in the future when the Germans will never use a V12 again.

@TedwardDrives Unless Kim Jong-Un comes rolling by in his armored Pullman.

@akbarovnodirbek2878 Less reliable? Nah. The SOHC Mercedes-Benz engines proved more reliable (even if forced induction) than the M119, M120, etc.

Maybach 57/62 Zeppelin. The ultimate form of the W220 S65.

@SDav21 The only person being rude here was you when you decided to be a bot-like contrarian and not read my comment. Now you're using a straw man attack (I never claimed what you say). I was writing about why it was designed that way. Any reason you could have to close everything from inside (too hot, etc.) is obvious. But it was really designed to be a quick way to rid smells in conjunction with recirculate. Very simple. This was explained in the owner's manual.

@SDav21 Yes, it also does that by holding unlock on the key. Many luxury cars have that feature. I think it started on the W140.

@SDav21 There are many features programmed into Mercedes that people don't have a clue about. I've had a 220 for years and knew about the convenience closing from the manual. On these cars holding in recirculate only closes everything up to ensure recirculate works properly. Not sure if that was changed to open as well on newer cars.

@SDav21 I'm sure it does on other car but not on mine. "It isn't just to make sure recirculate works properly". Now you're just being a contrarian. What you're saying isn't logical. Slow down and think for a second. The entire point behind assigning the recirculate button to this task is so you can prevent bad smells and ensure that recirculate mode (the process of recirculating interior air, filtering it, and then bringing it back in to prevent bad exterior smells) is not just taking in outside air through open glass. Otherwise they would've just put it on a window switch by holding up for a few seconds.

The W223 definitely has a mediocre and incoherent design. The interior is just trying to be progressive over any of the great S-Class traditional interior luxuries.
