Yes, but who controls the corporations? It's always a select few people who misuse power pathologically.

Yeah, except in this case Ghosn was actually a corrupt POS who had ulterior motives. He was, in fact ruining Nissan with the strengthening of the Renault partnership and they all know it, regardless of how it "saved" the company close to 2 decades ago. That is the reason why their products have been lackluster. Renault (and its French government ownership) was benefitting from the partnership almost exclusively. Wait for the facts to come out rather than the laughably easy explanation that it was just identity-based discrimination against foreigners.

If you want to see "thirsty" just look at the people and their motives behind this hitpiece.

@amevaio92 That doesn't mean Ghosn wasn't a corrupt criminal here.

@HermanWillems They do have traditional collectivist work culture that is distrustful of outsiders, but that is also why they are one of the most productive countries on earth per capita

@mushie8447 Yes, exactly, Renault ruined the company. Which is why this hitpiece is hilarious. Ghosn is supposedly a "respected" innocent but insiders know what he did to the company. Two work cultures couldn't be more different. Didn't work for DaimlerChrysler and didn't work here. It's no shock the Japanese of the c-suite wanted to cut ties and continue on.

The partnership with Renault truly destroyed Nissan from a products (and, therefore, competitive) standpoint. It was not really benefitting THEM. Strengthening such relationships is suspicious on its very face and the two work cultures couldn't possibly be more opposite.

No, the reason why their product has struggled so much is mostly because of Ghosn's leadership and the insane Renault partnership that benefitted little more than Renault and the French government ownership. Two work cultures couldn't be more different. It didn't work for DaimlerChrysler and didn't work here. But Ghosn kept pushing for more and more unity between the companies which was utterly ridiculous. The Japanese didn't want to see Nissan get any worse. This is a hitpiece that essentially white knights for Ghosn and shows extremely biased viewpoints as if there's some sort of weird identity-based victimization in play against foreigners. Insiders know it's not true. Wait for the facts.

This "exposé" is not biased at all. No, not at all. Ghosn definitely wasn't a corrupt POS. Yeah, I'll wait for the facts to come out. This is hilarious.
1
No, they wouldn't, because this documentary is a biased hitpiece, like any other. The facts will come out and, as it stands, Ghosn is the one who still seems like the corrupt POS over anyone else.
1
Yes, exactly. Because it is a biased hitpiece that isn't presenting the facts. Insiders know that Ghosn was corrupt and he just happened to be ruining the company (regardless of his success earlier efforts many years ago). It was logical to do. They are trying to white knight for the non-Japanese as if it's just from identity-based discrimination against foreigners. Nonsense.
