Daryl Leckt The majority of southerners didn't even own slaves.

@SLJShortt Doesn't get more definitive of a strawman attack than this...

Greg Bors Are you kidding? Most Americans know this because it's fed to us in public schools. This comment was a joke.

@SLJShortt Hahaha. That's rich. You tried to frame it as if I said no southerners owned slaves. I never claimed that. You attacked the straw man. Get an education, you charlatan and sanctimonious dilrod: As if there weren't enough of your type on the internet already.

@SLJShortt I'd love to see your magical definition of a straw man fallacy. It's funny that you're still on this because you aren't able to argue any actual points of mine. Either way, here is the Oxford Dictionary definition: "An intentionally misrepresented proposition that is set up because it is easier to defeat than an opponent's real argument." This is exactly what you did in your reply. Maybe your own insecurities of not actually knowing it and using it so easily have you trying to pin it on me. Hilarious.

@SLJShortt Hahaha. No, my friend. That is not a "generalization". That's a fact. Ironically, I was replying to a comment that was truly generalizing all southerners as slave owners. Even a child could see why I wrote what I did. So, now you've exposed yourself as a narcissist too. You were so confident that you were correct and kept up your charlatan attitude for a while. It's pathetic.

@SLJShortt Oh, no I'm using a strawman attack??? Hahaha! Please tell me this is a comedy act. Your insistance that your own fairy tale definition of "strawman" (which I proved as wrong: the only evidence yet provided, by the way) was correct defines what a narcissist believes. Narcissist: "A person who has an excessive interest in or admiration of themselves." This applies directly to your overestimating of your own knowledge. Aaaand in case you can't read (I'm starting to doubt you can connect two dots together, at that), I was replying to a comment that generalized southerners as slave owners. That was the easily-noticed point of my reply. This is the second time now that this must be explained to you. It's sad.

@SLJShortt You are still wallowing in sanctimony. It's really revolting. I didn't accuse you of using a straw man attack or being a narcissist. You did use a straw man and you are a narcissist. The proof is in your own words above and I am the only person here who has posted evidence to back up my claims. It's awfully convenient for you to ignore the comment I replied to by Daryl, isn't it? You've danced around that. This Twin Towers comparison you've just made is a blatant false equivalency as well. I could just as easily say you shouldn't care about all lives because black lives matter. It's nonsense (and that comparison is out of place here, anyway). Also: "...make a comment that tries to distract from the real issue..." Riiiight. Now you're assuming intent of others (a logical shortcoming often done by progressives). This is a comment thread and I was replying to another comment. It is an issue when ignorant people like you try to support the overly simplistic claim that southerners fought for slavery to be upheld. You probably also believe other illogical nonsense like whites whose distant ancestors owned slaves now owe reparations (a vile and agenda-driven absurdity). If you intended that as "a sarcastic quip" it would've been mentioned by now. That was a serious comment. Either way, you need to educate yourself on why many non-slaveholders fought in the war.
