Yes, the cost of living in general has continued to increase, and without wages increasing to match inflation

The interior light dimming feature is something I've always valued. Saab did it right too.
137
Makes the original X3 look acceptable
131
Bang on. Displays are cheaper than a bunch of tactile switches and quality trim
89
Control changes in the name of "progress" often do the exact opposite. Designers need to be forced to test their layout against the old one and do it just as fast or faster.
59
The closest thing to the old GS400/430 we get. And that makes it the best daily you could ask for.
57
I prefer this design in every single way to the new S-Class
37
@TermlessHGW Oh no, humor police is here to protect people from being offended. This mentality is why free speech is in danger everywhere
28
@cmacd8879 Circles are largely known to be timeless elements and the rear of the C7 will likely not be as attractive in the future
27
Basically the Gravity
25
Almost insulting that they wouldn't at least offer the additional features present on the Canadian variant to Americans as options. How would that be much more complicated? Seems like laziness.
24
@rambow70 Those engines have always been problematic and wouldn't trust the new generation either
22
All German luxury automakers are now husks.
21
Exhaust Sports Auto Not everything is best with a manual
20
The interior is so well done... And then there's the display that doesn't retract.
19
It might be beta male repellent, but only a beta male would pay the current dealer markups
19
Not even close...
18
@haydenspoppa785 At this point I've conceded that it's basically most people everywhere near major cities in the US that can't drive
16
They're constantly trying to lower their average age. Misguided planning and brand management. Marketing morons.
15
12:03 This bit essentially sums up her parroted, "woke", talking points.
13
Exactly! Just using displays is uninspiring and not luxury. The same people calling an Apple Watch luxurious and scoff at traditional watches have no issues with this interior. Techies shouldn't design luxury car interiors.
13
Never thought I'd think a base W221 would be more appealing than a Maybach variant of current-year S-Class, but
11
kadie1414 New technologies and not enough testing.
11
Never thought the Frontier may be considered a more reliable choice but here we are.
11
The plastichrome is the worst part of their interiors. People have hated it for years and they still use it.
11
SamTheCar Wrong. Hyundai has a ~20% or so stake in Kia and an agreement to share supply chain, platforms, engineering, etc.
11
@lalalal8111 You are very unintelligent. Good products win and investors will save them. The company is in its infancy. 2008-2009 in the Tesla timeline. Tesla didn't have anything except the Roadster at Lucid's age.
10
Ditching the GS was a poor decision to me. They just released a new Toyota Crown (S220)! They could release a new GS without much development costs!
9
@paladin3116 Meaningless statement
9
@2006gtobob They all clamor to move lines to Mexico. Where is the Mustang Mach-E made? Right
9
Everything is already unnecessarily difficult as it is regardless
9
The global HR-V just has a much more appealing design
8
Purchasing power should be the real metric here. Inflation isn't as relevant. Purchasing power is much lower than when the E46 M3 was sold.
8
I'm suddenly reminded of my previous desire to have a 360 Challenge Stradale with a manual swap. And it is now a renewed desire
8
hisham202 You also have the Land Cruiser Prado and the Fortuner (and the Hiace, etc.,).
8
This is not about speed at all, but even then few can match that
8
@MozzaBurger88 You see even in the luxury market they don't care to use OLED. It's ridiculous! If you're using digital displays in cars for the cluster you need to use OLED!
8
But what about a PT Cruiser convertible?
8
Huw Williams Get one from a nice wrecked vehicle/junkyard car. What most of us do.
8
I've listened to many audio systems in cars and while the best was, by far, a Burmester 3D in a W222, the next best was definitely a 6-speaker Alpine.
8
The new Hummer interior did a surprisingly great job balancing it
8
With the immense amount of time they've had to do this interior it's quite a letdown. The general design is fantastic
7
Their designs are refreshing compared to most modern blobs seemingly done by children
7
None of it looks appealing. Especially the UI
7
No, no, that won't do. Pomp eet up to QUADS!
7
Gotta dodge all that feces on the side roads.
7
The rear of the C8 was a mistake in general
7
Yet every other mechanical part on the Lexus was designed and manufactured to a higher standard. I put that first.
6
@markm0000 Probably a lease.
6
Those Lucernes were actually an incredible value before SHTF. Very low mileage units were going for $5-7k
