They have only been delivering cars for 3 years. Shall we go over what Tesla's position was 3 years after their first delivery? It takes time. Extremely difficult to start a new automotive company now.

They said the same about Tesla

@davidlemieux615 They are much younger. Lucid first delivered over 13 years after Tesla

Fisker had to outsource their production and not nearly as competitive as Lucid

Tesla Motors in 2011 was not profitable. And they weren't for years after the Model S first delivered

@markplott4820 They said the same thing about Tesla with the Roadster and after the Model S started production and was losing them a large amount per vehicle

@stefano1844 That's part of the point I made. Even though Tesla was also losing an immense amount per car years after Model S delivery, it was a product with no competition. Therefore nobody should act surprised when a Model S competitor hasn't yet made Lucid profitable just 3 years after first deliveries. Additionally, Tesla also decided to produce another expensive car (Model X) before their current one became profitable. Why? Because just like Gravity there was a massive parts overlap and it was logical to tap into that higher volume segment. The point still remains, however, that Tesla was still producing the Roadster 3 years after their first delivery in 2008. It's a monumental challenge to produce a world class luxury sedan as your first product. Scaling takes many years.
