  1. Eh, I like the somewhat top-end Samsungs because I know they last forever (I take great care of them) and they are future proof (can use them for much longer without being too outdated). All phones I use get a good case so not issues at all.

Also, to inform you on why the edges are slightly curved: The edge panel functionality (what the bevel is designed for) on the Galaxy flagships works well and the slight bevel allows positive feedback to prevent you from opening it accidentally. You know when the edge panel starts where the flat screen ends, essentially. Regardless, it works well after you adjust to it. Samsung R&D knows what they're doing. Opened more things accidentally on my flat S7. Most people who buy such expensive phones insure them with cases (you're a moron if you don't protect such an investment with one).
