It seems that every once in a while this ideology rises somewhere that to be on the right side of history, we must be evil people, duty bound for what we feel is the greater good of the collective. We will brutally disrespect individual rights, evade individual responsibility and even ignore reason. Then after things change the way we want them, we will be good people again, and everything will be wonderful.
