You should stop watching Thunderf00t.

@tommy605 The guy is a hypocrite who is bad as the people he criticized . Scott Manley despises him and probably Destin too if he knows him. He cherry picks data and literally spread misinformation to lambast fields he have zero expertise in such as his hate boner for NASA, battery and EV tech and of course everyone favourite lolcow, Elon Musk' venture . Many of his video on those topic were embarrassingly bad and have been debunked by more reputable channel such as Engineering Explained .Remember when he accused a Nobel laureate of being a fraud? Or when he think people store hydrogen in it liquid form for HFEV an small scale storage? Or him lying about Space X, there are many of of those oops moments. Even when he is given easy target such as the EM drive or Chernobyl series inaccuracies, his penchant for arguing in bad faith ensures that he missed the mark on them. His lack of integrity is why he doesn't deserve the praise his fans lauded on him.

@xLunday Unlike Philip Mason who lies and misrepresent data to further his views, Destin is a person with credibility .
10
Boosted? Destin have millions more view and follower than that hack who calls himself thundef00t . More like Philip "I like to burn books" Mason is just Clout Chasing on a far more successful creator with actual credibility .
7
@maxdefire For guy who claim to know about chemistry , Thunrderfoot see seem to know jack shot about battery and EV. Remember when he waffle and contradicted his own points multiple time on battery energy density in just several minutes ?
5
@kristinagraversgaard5328 That's not the only time Phillip Mason was being disingenuous .
4
@Wingedshadowwolf Thunderf00T is not someone with much credibility , though. His approval might be more of a scarlet letter.
4
@TeeTee-05 The problem with you and Philip is you conflate you strong distaste for Musk with his companies and projects. Musk is horrible POS, that much I agree , but that doesn't correlate to Starship being a bad project or failure . As pointed by the other poster, both the TF2 and TF3 were huge success that achieved most of the test objective.
3
@MD-qh6ld Those actions include the time he cherry picked data and misrepresent them to press his point, sometimes even downright lying about them , allowing his bias to cloud his opinion, accusing a Nobel prize winner to be a fraud , claiming authoritative knowledge on subject he have zero expertise on, missing the obvious points and even associating with some very unsavoury people and so on . Notice that many of these behaviours are the same he thing accused his target of doing is his series on them. There are reasons why Thunderf00t is kind of a pariah in the science communicator space.
3
@MD-qh6ld Wow, every single one of them triggered the algorithm . Doesn't matter if the topic is space exploration, book burning, EV and battery or Chernobyl. All of them got yeeted . This is very frustrating.
3
@TeeTee-05 Sorry that you think literally lying about NASA and accusing 2019 Nobel Prize for Chemistry winner a fraud is bringing logic to the table. There are reasons people like Scott Manley and Destin would have despised Philip Mason .
3
@philn.7575 It seem explanation on that moniker for Thunderfoot got yeeted by the algorithm.
2
Philip I like to burn book E. Mason is not someone whom you want to seek approval from. He is no better than people he criticised.
2
@soilcredibility It shows that Phil I like to burn book Mason have a bad reputation among his peers in engineering and science communicator circle.
2
@piotrd.4850 Only the skeptic part in Common Sense Skeptic is accurate, He engages in too much magical thinking himself and does not dissect Tesla in a matter-of-fact-ly way at all. As for Pressure Fed Astronaut , his hypothesis on Starship ignore the induced demand Staship could spur when it become operation .
2
@jimbob-robob If you never heard of those, then you really have not watch enough of him. He criticised multiple NASA mission and endeavours such as Ingenuity, NASA testing of EM drive, Venus project and many more. On EV and battery, he made actually false bizarre claim such as batteries being more dangerous and less efficient than gasoline and even accuse the guy who won the Nobel prize for developing Li-ion battery as a fraud. I don't know what other other Mason's agenda is on top him hating Musk , but he is not a reliable source nor is one with credibility. .

@kristinagraversgaard5328 That's not the only time Phillip Mason have been disingenuous . He would lie , cherry pick and misrepresent data on anything he wasa against such as EV or Sapce X . He even insinuates that John B. Goodenough is a scammer and against mansy NASA's most successful missions such as the Ingenuity Mars Helicopter. He isn't someone worth supporting nor deserving of respect.

@philn.7575 I don't know if this will get removed by YouTube again but here we go. One time there was a right wing buffoon who tried to organise an annual book burning event. Among the offending books were the Harry Potter series and a certain holy book form Middle Eastern religion, he specifically named the event after that holy book . Of course he deserving receive a lot of flak for that. After seeing this man got eviscerated for his stunt, thundef00t decided to show solidarity with this man by downloading thousand of the said holy book onto a hard disk and then using thermite to destroy the hard disk, basically book burning with extra steps. Right wingers like Mundane Matt and Sargon of Akkad befriended him under the guise of being fellow scpstic. Of course he had a massive falling out with them once he discovered that aren't really sceptics , something he would have knows if he even did cursory research into them.

@philn.7575 I actually posted an explanation on the incident in which he earned the moniker of bookburner . Strangely enough youtube decided to yeet that post.
1
@gewurzgurke4964 Ironically he is guilty of plenty of things he accused Anita Sarkeesian of doing . He is pretty much a hypocrite in this regard.
1
@jimbob-robob I doubt he will be in agreement with Mason on most other issues, though. Such as book burning.
1
I doubt he likes to be associated with Philip I like to burn books E. Mason

@MD-qh6ld Everytime I tried to list the all the disingenuous thing Philip Mason did, my post somehow triggered the youtube yeet algorithm and disappears into the aether . Those actions include the time he cherry picked data and misrepresent them to press his point, sometimes even downright lying about them , allowing his bias to cloud his opinion, accusing a Nobel prize winner to be a fraud , claiming authoritative knowledge on subject he have zero expertise on, missing the obvious points and even associating with some very unsavoury people and so on . @MD-qh6ld Unfortunately every time I tried to list Phip Mason disingenuous behaviours , it somehow triggered youtube yeet algorithm .
1
@MD-qh6ld Again, every time I tried to provide the list , my post got yetted . I will try to multipost and see which one didn't triggered the algorithm this time.
1
@MD-qh6ld He cherry picked data and even straight up lied about NASA and Spacex X . Such lies include cost and time of development and launch cost as well as the capability of those lauchs systems misquoting both NASA and Space X statements.
1
@MD-qh6ld His battery and EV video are notoriously bad where he tried to paint batteries as more dangerous and less efficient than gasoline and diesel when in facts neither of his notion are true. This is also the one where he inferred that John B Goodenough a fraud

@tommy605 I seems my previous takedown of Phillip E. Mason got yeeted by youtube for unknown reasons , again. Let repost it into multiple chunks to see what words triggered the yeet algorithm.
1
@maxdefire His battery and EV video really shows that he doesn't know much about either of them . Most of what he said there such as BEV is more prone to catching fire than ICEV are factually false. This is the same video where he implied John B. Goodenough is a fraud. Ge cven straight lied in some of them for example when he failed to estimate Tesla semi's maximum load. Those videos are some of the most damning evidence against Thundef00t's credibility.

@TeeTee-05 LOL, thunderfoot have zero impact on anything , especially battery tech. It seem you love to resort to strawman and missing the point , just like your idol Philip Mason. The education system must failed you that badly if you think literally lying about NASA and accusing 2019 Nobel Prize for Chemistry winner a fraud is "using logic" .

The education system must failed you that badly if you think literally lying about NASA and accusing 2019 Nobel Prize for Chemistry winner a fraud is bringing logic to the table . Why do Thunderfoot fanatics tend to be severely deficient of facts and science?
1
@TeeTee-05 You would lose that bet easily, thunderfoot have zero impact on anything in real life , especially battery tech. It seem you love to resort to strawman and missing the point , just like your idol Philip Mason. The education system must failed you that badly if you think literally lying about NASA and accusing 2019 Nobel Prize for Chemistry winner a charlatan is bringing logic to the table .
1
@TeeTee-05 Proof ? I thought you watched Thunderfoot 's video? If Scott isn't a critical thinker , then what make an extremely biased and disingenuous person like Philip is? Unlike Phillip, Scott never lied about project he didn't like and would outline both possible pros and cons of such projects as well as the engineering challenge they need to overcome IF they wanted to succeed . As such , he correctly outlined to point isn't a bad idea IF they managed to solve those challenges and the competing tech didn't surpass them. I based how Destin would feel about Philip based on the facts the Phillip is very much pariah within the science and tech YouTube communicator scène and Destin is good friend with most of the people who don't hold Thunderf00t in high opinion, he even collaborated with them.
1
@piotrd.4850 Firstly, the so called "magical thinking" only deal with things that impossible, none of those "IF" are improbable let alone impossible . Scott pretty much outline what the challenges that need to be met for point o point flight to be possible. I don't see how that can be misconstrued as lazy, I would say he did his due diligence better than most who cover Space X and the current Starship development . I would say the Scots is better than Common Sense Skeptic or Philip Mason in term of his space exploration coverage. Secondly, while this is the first time I ever heard of Pressure Fed Astronaut thus I can't really comment on him until I binge his videos, Common Sense Skeptic is pretty much too biased and emotionally compromised to be taken as a primary source . While his dislike for Musk means he is quite "reliable" at covering any bad news on any of Musks' ventures, he tend to gloss over or skip any good new or positive development to an point of spreading information about the, such as Tesla battery fire or the environmental impact of Starship launch . His vodel on Starship pretty much highlight his lack of knowledge on the matter. Calling biased hater channel as matter-of-fact-ly is isn't exactly presenting a good faith arguments.
1
@piotrd.4850 Scott Manley have never been ever lazy with his coverage of Space X . He criticises and highlight all of their failure and successes. That make him more credible than people who only cover negative news and ignore the good progress like Phil and Common Sense Skeptic or the opposite for the Musk fanbois like Angry Astronaut and Apogee .
