Comments by "remliqa" (@remliqa) on "Police mistake black teen riding with white grandmother for robbery suspect" video.
That because they're stopping robbery suspect, not traffic violation.

@Jayboy This doesn't seem to be a case of "evil cops" , though.

What? You should be armed when approaching robbery suspect?

@ohauss The didn't presume anything. The kid was detained for investigation ,not arrested, detained ( big difference). If this was an arrest they would've been behind bars. And no, any competent cops from any civilized country would do the same if they were confronted with possibly dangerous robbery suspect..

@Jounior2567 What lie did they told?
1
@Jounior2567 That doesn't mean they were lying, just not competent.
1
@Jounior2567 Or it was their incompetence that lead them to not record the interaction with the eyewitness in the first place. Hanlon's Razor is still a thing.
1
@Jounior2567 If the footage was missing after the detention (not arrest detention ) , they it may be possible that it was malice rather than stupidity. But instead, what we seem here that they didn't records the statement and THEN detain the teen and his grandmother . The flow of time here doesn't see to support your theory.
1
@Jounior2567 The timeline of event showed that is it more likely that the detention of teen was due to incompetence.

@enightc Agree, even in this comment section people are mistaking his detention as an arrest, that includes the OP.

@Lon.BedStuyforLife If the white kid matched the description the suspects ? Yes, they would still pulled them over and detained them for questioning (remember, being detained isn't the same as being arrested). I've seen many time witnesses either went awol or retracting their statements later due to various reasons so that claim isn't BS to anyone who is even a bit familiar with their justice system. Of course any ambulance chasing lawyer would make that statement, that is what lawyers do all the time.

@Lon.BedStuyforLife What two stops? Again , if the suspect matched the description given by witnesses, the police will stop them , regardless of race.
