  1. You should NEVER EVER dry fire a bow , dry fire in when you pull the string and releasing it without an arrow nocked on the bowstring. Without an arrow in which the bow can transfer all the potential energy, all that power will be absorbed by the bow intead. This can destroy the bow and even cause injuries. If you pull a bowstring without arrow nocked , slowly return the string back to its original position instead of releasing it.
