No they're not. Unfortunately the Ocean Cleanup vessel are not very effective at preventing/ cleansing plastic waste and is very misguided in their approach.

@xnyxiee1784 Firstly, it is a repost form reply to another poster with the same "inquiry. Secondly, many YouTube comment section automatically removes any links, even to other Yiutube videos . As I don't know the moderating policy here, I decide to give you the title of the YouTube video so you can go there yourself instead of risking my post being auto-yeteed , that is. I already gave you my source. The onus is on you to lift your veil of ignorance.

@xnyxiee1784 It seem you are new to this site . Youtube shadowbanned comment all the times, the comment section here isn't really conducive for debates or in depth arguments. Again, the fact is their approach is at best flawed, misguided and not as effective as people thinks.

@@jamesk479 You are literally wrong here Data shows that even in rivers most of the debris are NOT surface level (type this machine collects) . Again the video I stated actually addressed this as well.

@Glenhh I am not sure you watch the video because their criticism of Ocean Cleanup is in its ineffectiveness (most plastic waste are not surface floaters) , cost and people thinking this reboot of an old idea will solve the plastics problem . To boot they even offered better solution that will be more effective while being cheaper to implement .
