  1.  @dhelsel89  The problem is lack of technology and the fact that vacuum "filled" container would be more disastrous/dangerous than hydrogen when there is a breach.

  2.  @sethdrake7551  By that time material science/engineering would have evolved to the point that safe vacuum balloons and hydrogen (which I argue is already safe by today's standards ) would be the norm.

  3. I think travel speed is the killing blow that make airship unfeasible for passenger fleets. I also think with the current technology , it would be safe to use hydrogen for crewed (or passenger) flights. Not only do they provides more lifts (thus leading to better efficiency and greater payload) , but can also be used for power in time of need when couple with fuel cells .
