@dannyfields2065 You don't plan your routes at all?

@dannyfields2065 I'm talking about current level of EV batteries. Once higher capacity batteries came out in a few years (Tesla's 1000 mile batteries i.e),this concern would no longer be valid.

@mtntime1 So you're telling me that they keep abandoning their vehicles whenever they ran out of gas,?
6
@dannyfields2065 At least for now.

@mtntime1 " And everything will be robotic." Doubtful that'll happen within our lifetime. " I fear you may be right. What a depressing thought" I don't see what is so depressing about weaning ourselves off fossil fuel. You should be rejoicing considering the harm fossil fuel have done so far.

@General12th A thousand mile battery is just around the corner, I bet we'll be seeing them in just couple of years.. The current range for BEV is good enough for 90% of car users, let make them useful for 100% of car users.

@mtntime1 " Let me guess, you're a millennial, right?" LOL , you couldn't be more wrong, fellow boomer (though I doubt you even qualify as "boomers"). I'm guessing you're too young to remember that there were was another President named Bush or witnessing the impeachment of multiple US president (i'm (not just talking about Clinton and Trump). in your lifetime. I am probably older than you , yet I am confident that I will be seeing the extinction of ICE as main terrestrial transportation within my lifetime. I mean 1000 mile batteries is just within this decade alone.

@mtntime1 So they did plan they routes to only where they can get a fuel, ergo not so o different from BEV road trips . In a couple of decade the situation would be the same for EVs , only far more convenient as electricity is more ubiquitous than fuel stations.
2
@wlonsdale1 Not as ubiquitous as electricity. Almost all homes have, can't say the same for gas stations.
2
They do?

@mtntime1 If you are as old as you claim, then you already witness three paradigm shift in technology that I have : the advent of home computing, he rise of the internet and the invention of the mobile phones (not smartphone, just mobile phones), we would both remember the time when all three was nothing but sci fi and how all of them change our way of life in direction we didn't anticipate at that time . The shift towards electrification is just another one of those milestone that we will witness if we're still alive in a few decades) The future Wtyatt and Bill (Fonda and Hopper's characters) will be free ranging using EVs.

Derek Charette That is actually a lie. I don't think you understand what "fact" mean. HINT: Thoroughly debunked myth/lies aren't "facts".
