  10.  @rj8u  Bill Gates have literally saved millions of live through his donation to build medical and educational facilities in the third world. On top of that he is on the forefront of research of deadly diseases like Malaria and clean energy through his contributions. Heck he have pledged to donate 95-99% of his wealth to charity once his gone. Regardless of what he id to get to be a billionaire (I know of his biography, he'd didn't do much damage at all) he is good person. As for me not knowing Gates, I only first heard of Microsoft when DOS came out, so I have seen the impact of his company first-hand, most of them are positive.

Quite a large number of them are actually openly hating on any company (ULA, Blue Origin, Revian, Hyundai etc) that in their mind dares to challenge Tesla/Spacex dominance .One of the chief element of cult like behaviour is an intense "Us vs Them" mentality. I've saw such sentiment in the last century( I was around back then ) until the early 21st century with Jobs and Apple .

Yes, they were groundbreaking when they first came but in terms of quality their competitors usually would math up (and sometimes surpass) Apple own lines up. Of eventually Apple already have built a cult like following that people would willing to pay up more just to have the brand name (despite not being that much better to justify the price) . I can see the same thing withy Tesla.

  16. @Vulkanoid Total I've been using non Apple products (Windows PC, Android smartphones etc) ever since the 1990s and I have tested equivalent Apple products and quite frankly in most of the cases (especially for Windows) I would say the quality doesn't justify their price point ( limited gaming for Mac eg) so yes, I am being objective when I say they really not superior to their competitors , especially when you can get the same performance at a lesser cost. If you want to tu sy that they used to be great innovators and trend setters that the rest in the industry would play catch up with (because they really doesn't have anything that can compete with Apple at that time) , then you're right. But whenever a real competition exist, I rarely find the smug superior attitude of Apple user to be warranted.

  17. @Vulkanoid Total You pretty much summed up why I (and most people) don't find Apple to that impressive. My professional work with computers (and most other people who uses computers) mainly deals with those that can be done with the standard Microsoft office package( you know , Office , Excel etc) and quite frankly there is nothing inherently superior about Apple products to justify the price. As for the consumers side the lack of consumer grade programs (such as games ) makes even less desirable for home. They're good reason why Apple was a always been a fringe product (with just around 10% or market share) from the late 80s onwards . The only Apple that really was indeed superior was their Ipod (thank to Itunes) and the first Iphones.

The number is calculated based on the rate of capacity degradation experienced by Tesla owner over time . There are YouTube video on this subject that affirm that number. You seem to be rather ignorant on the the energy management of Tesla vehicles so I understand why the news of their batteries lasting that long is a surprise to you. As for he pollution rate of BEV vs ICE scenario , that are also available for free .Ars Technica did an article on one of those studies while other separate study (which also arrive at the same conclusion) was covered by another prominent scientific /tech journal (though I can't remember which one). So non of what I wrote is bullshit. In short ,based on available scientific data, what Marco Saraiva Silva wrote was completely bullshit

  33.  @typhoon20724  That is actually false. The lifetime of current Li ion battery for cars is around 20 years with typical usage, far more than your 5-7 years. On top of that several research/studies concluded that even in the worst case scenario if all the energy needed to power BEV came only from coal power plant, a BEV is still far last polluting than an equivalent ICE a t the end of bot vehicle's lifetime. With more an more of the grid coming from clean power source, BEV would be more ecologically sound than any ICE within just couple of years of usage.
