While it is true that BEV does have a higher environmental cost upfront than ICEV, the environmental cost over their lifetime is much lower. It is estimated that even if in the worst case scenario where all the energy needed to power those BEV came solely from coal power plants, those BEV would still have around half the ICEV's environmental cost at the end of their lifetime. In a grid that is mostly powered by renewables, those same BEV would supasess ICEV injust a couple of years . "Elon literally makes rockets that pollute that atmosphere" Rockets doesn't really pollute the atmosphere that much or in some cases at all (hydrogen and liquid oxygen rocket ) . Most of the exhaust gas (all in the case of hydrolox) are water vapour and this is just as true with Space X's Raptor engine (which uses methane as fuel) . Even the RP1 fuel used by the Falcon Rockets aren't really that polluting and they are far , far too few rocket launch s to make any impact.
