@luchi.el.zorrito No, you are still misrepresenting the context. All US Presidents (both Bushes, Obama, Biden etc) in recent time enacted some sort of child separation policy in their time . The difference is under all those Presidents , such policy was utilised to protect the children from bad actors seeking to harm or exploit them and there were efforts to reunite the children with their true families. The same can't be said of Trump: Trump used that policy as weapon to punish all the immigrants caught with their family , failed to even try to provide adequate welfare checks to the captured children (even leading to sexual abuse and death to a few) and actively sabotaged any attempts to reunite the children with their rightful family. That was whey both Democrats and Republican recoiled in horror at Trump's child separation policy.

@luchi.el.zorrito Here you are repeating you misrepresentation of facts . Under all the other President the children were only separated from the adults when there is suspicions that the adults were harming or intending to exploit the children ( child trafficking eg) . If no concern were raised the child were allow to be with the adults they were detained thus ensuing that family units remains intact. But Because of Trump zero tolerance policy was seeking to punish both children (instead of to protect them) and adult, all children and adults were forcibly separated even when it was apparent doing so would be more harmful to the child. See the difference BTW, I don't you understand what "moving goalposts" even means.
