@TomDrez Who invaded the USSR? The last one that tried was The Germans in WW2 and not only did that didn't hamper The Soviets' space program, the spoils of that war was the reason the Soviets had their t breakthrough in space tech. .

@MollyGermek Not quite true. The Germans were far ahead of everyone in terms of rocket tech by the end of the war. After all they were the first in the world to reach space with their V2 rockets . After the war the USSR captured lot of German rockets tech including plans and functioning rocket engine prototype and production facility. They reverse engineered these to jumpstart their space programs . This is pretty well documented. The Americans on other hand did not captured much techs compared to the Soviets , but did a far better job at recruiting former German rocket scientist, such as Wernher Von Braun.

@Nowhereman10 That really doesn't matter to my argument , what matter is the Germany advanced the science of rocketry to world leading level and they form the basis for both Soviets and US space efforts. The US didn't carry on from where Goddard left, they continue from what Von Braun achieved.

@TomDrez Yes, WW2 didn't have any negative impact on the USSR''s space program at all. That's because their pace program didn't until after WW2. In facts The USSR benefited a lot from German rockets tech that they captured after WW2.

@Watchdreamzzz Again, you proved my point that only the last time they were outright invaded was during WW2 , long before their space program even started. As for being victims of colonialism, I don't know which part of history that would count for Russia or the USSR or how they have any impact on the progress of their space program.

@TomDrez 28-128 million people were killed by the Communist party in the USSR until 1987 ,many of those that died were intellect and academians, by your logic those would hamper them more than the 26 million that died during the WW2. Again, you keep on ignoring how much progress the Soviet received from reverse engineering German rocketry tech.

@Watchdreamzzz Again , none of what you listed had any discernible effects on the Soviet space program.
