@Treviisolion To be fair most of Chernobyl( outside the reactor core) would probably be safely habitable to human within a century or two (at most) more so not quite a million years. Unless you're talking about the corium, that is.

@stupidburp True , what we considered as "safe to enough to live in" might be considered a more indicative criteria as to when the area surrounding the exclusion zone (and within the exclusion zone itself) to be habitable. I think the same thing is currently happening in Fukushima too with plunging real estate price (which even allowed one company to set up a vertical farm there cheaply) and the rehabilitation of surrounding areas. Oh, on a completely unrelated note, I think the Mars colonisation plan is rather silly. Venus would be a far more hospitable (surprisingly) and easier place to colonize as long you live in cloud cities (NASA' HAVOC) and never set foot on the surface.
