We are also a Spanish-speaking country, which is essentially the epitome of being Western. Second of all, feminism is abundant and active in Puerto Rico. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, so I know this place far better than you do. Now, what was that again about feminist, Western women being unattractive? You contradicted yourself.

  3. Brett Carwile To be honest with you, you bring up many good reasons not to move to Japan, but the thing is that those exact same issues exist in any country in the planet. There doesn't exist a single place on Earth that doesn't discriminate brutally against foreigners and treats them like shit. That's just how it is. I agree with you that people shouldn't be delusional about Japan becoming their new ideal home forever. But at the same time, I think you're underestimating how poorly treated foreigners are treated everywhere else in the world. I'm Puerto Rican, but I lived in the U.S.A for quite some time, and the U.S.A isn't any better than Japan in that regard. Many groups of people - not just immigrants - are treated worse than most animals. And I also lived in France too. And again, France isn't any better. They treated me a lot better than I was treated in the U.S.A, but other immigrant communities were not as lucky, and France also has its own sets of issues to resolve aside from discrimination against immigrants. The way I see it, it doesn't matter how poorly they treat foreigners in Japan. I'm already 100% used to being treated like an orangutan for a number of reasons, so they experience won't be anything new to me. I also have plenty of Plan Bs and Cs just in case Japan ends up not working out for me. I don't want to invalidate your traumatic experience in Japan. But like I said, most countries in the world aren't any better. One way to think about it is: every country in the world is complete shit. But some shit is slightly better suited for some people than for others.

  5. Statistically, people have it worse in Southern states or red states, so I have no idea of what you're talking about. Marxists don't exist in the U.S.A. Everyone practices capitalism, including Democrats. The only difference is that Republicans don't try to hide it, while Democrats pretend to be against capitalism, but they really aren't. Any socialist from South America, Asia or Europe would be utterly disappointed at the left-wing of the U.S.A. Regardless, you are correct: many of these reasons are applicable in the U.S.A. In fact, many of these are even worse in the U.S.A. Most of these reasons are applicable to every nation in the world to an extent, some more than others.

  12. As someone who has lived in Puerto Rico, the United States of America, and France for multiple years, and as someone who has had a very terrible experience on average, these all sound like comparatively mild issues that sound more like improvements to me, to be honest.

I think it's funny that plenty of Japanese people hate living in Japan and want to move to some other country, yet that other country is actually just as bad and people from that country want to leave it too. I think it speaks volumes: no country is perfect. In fact, no country is particularly good enough for everyonr.
