Of course not all cultures are equal. Would those who believe differently support the Fascist culture of Nazi Germany? Would they support the caste system of the Hindus and the burning of widows in historic India. Would they support the human sacrifices of the Aztecs and the Mayans if revived today? Of course not. All cultures are equal is a foolish idea.

@BoltaBekOzbek I'd say the culture that values freedom, the rule of law and the sanctity of the individual would be the one that would rank at or near the top. If you can't be who you want to be, as long as it doesn't take from the rights of others, isn't a culture that you or anyone would be proud to be a part of. I gave some clear examples of cultures that fail. Why didn't you comment on that?

@ I never gave ONE example of a single death that was cultural driven that ended in a single death. Each one had multiple deaths over years, sometimes centuries. Even if it was one death. It's STILL morally repugnant. If that single death is the result of a religious expression of a culture, it's even a bigger sign that some cultures have morally inferior ideals. Morality and ethics have nothing to do numbers. One horrific abuse is enough. Saying that wars are waged by better cultures is rather vague. I'd like to see specifics, in the way that I gave specifics. Also, there are people in those "better" cultures who aren't good people and they fool others into doing terrible things. Humans are flawed and it's manifested in ALL of us. The difference is in what one intentions and beliefs are. One culture could believe in human rights and do terrible things and another may commit horrific atrocities as a part of their belief system. The Aztecs practised human sacrifice as a religious rite to ensure prosperity for themselves and as a part of what they believed to be true. It permeated their entire society. They believed it was the right thing to do.

@alena-qu9vj Colonisation was THEN, not now. It's the culture of then and it would be considered wrong today. It's the same with slavery. Our culture, TODAY, is adamant that slavery is wrong. The culture 300 years ago didn't see anything wrong with it. So...is our culture today BETTER than the culture back then or not? I'd say it's better because our beliefs have changed and are now the cultural norm. You're comparing a different culture, than what we have today, to the Mayans. It's a false equivalency.
