No.....there is no law but if I were in a position where a police officer has it within his discretion to charge with something or not, I'd be polite. Answer all the questions and be co-operative. They're going to find out, anyway. Might as well do it in a pleasant fashion as in a jail cell after being dragged around. Catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar.

Random Thoughts So, it's that easy. A cop says he's going to arrest you and all you have to do is say no and you're off on your merry way and he can't do a thing to stop you. That's nice to know. LOL. If you resist arrest, expect to be arrested forcibly. If you physically try to resist arrest, and she did, expect to arrested with enough force to subdue you. That's the law and it makes sense. Do ask the police officers ask and you'll be fine. The more you resist, the harder it will go on you, just like this drunken numbskull.

life with Daena It IS her job to arrest someone for breaking the law. The person has the option of going quietly when arrested or suffer the consequences of resisting. It is the officer's job to arrest that woman and if she resists, she WILL be arrested forcibly. That was the choice of the young woman being arrested. If a person can just refuse to be arrested and be allowed to leave, then it's pointless to have laws and a police force. Let anarchy and chaos commence and the toughest and most ruthless guy gets to rule. They're doing that in the Congo right now. Go there....you'll love the anarchy when you arrive.

Ian She broke the law by sticking her head out of the sun roof. This might also imply that she wasn't wearing her seat belt, at least not in the correct manner. Therefore, the officer was doing her job in fining her. In doing that she had to get the woman's correct name. She was being argumentative and appeared intoxicated and the officer was within the scope of her job to ask her to get out of the vehicle if only to do a search. When she refused, the officer could then forcibly remove her from the car. If the young woman has a problem with police procedure, she should have complied with the officer's requests and then hired a lawyer to take the officer to task. She has clearly committed an offence and it is within the officer's discretion on what the charges should be. She can't just simply refuse to be charged.

@thecloneguyz Once called, they have to respond. My grandson, at a year old, hit the 911 button on the phone. They called back and my daughter told them what must have happened. They still came and got my son-in-law, who works shift work, out of bed to be sure everything was good. This was stupid but the police have to stop by just to make sure things don't escalate. People be crazy.

Exactly why people don't take animal rights activists seriously. It's knee jerk complaining without objectivity or common sense.
