@TheDivineCalls333 That's because in conservative states, they'll still arrest you, charge and punish you if found guilty of demeanour theft. Not in California. If it's misdemeanour theft, you're let go. They HAD to make it a felony so DA's can be forced to charge and punish you if found guilty. That's the reality of it. It's telling that EVERY district in California voted in favour of Proposition 36. Every one of them. They knew that something was wrong with their system and they did something to fix it. Yet, their own governor voted against it. He STILL didn't care that California citizens were sick and tired of the situation that he and his party created. That's a fact that you don't seem to want to face.
