@babs_babs If that step is one where we teach our young the survival skills that they'll need when they become adults, yes. That's a step that parents, even the parents of wild animals, take to ensure the well being of their young that'll last them all their lives. But I'm only guessing what you mean by your comment. I really have no idea what step you're talking about. You've said a lot of nothing and I can't help but think that's exactly what you wanted to do.

@Bunnahabhain18 I wish it so. However, they're doing the same thing to white kids now, as well. It's a nihilism that leads to apathy and it's destroying our society just as it has, in the past, for those of us who aren't white. It's destructive mindset for all of us and it has NOTHING to do with race. I'm not sure what point you're making by your repetition of those Peterson quotes. Anyone can chant things. It takes a mind to discuss what they might mean. Why don't you try that for a change instead of recycling the comments of others without trying to convey understanding of those quotes? That would have some real value.

@babs_babs It's called emptying the nest because the nest is needed for the next batch of children. When you're 18, it's time to stop looking to your parents for emotional support and build a life where YOU can be the one to lend that support to the very young, when they need it the most. We used to call it growing up.

@babs_babs The person that he was talking about was ME, when I was 20. I wasn't going to school. I was hardly working.....partying all the time. I was told to get out and make my own way and it was the best thing that they could have done for me. 4 years later, I was married, had a good job and a baby on the way. A year after that, we bought our first home. I now have a great relationship with my dad, my mom passed away a few years ago, my daughter and grandchildren. Why? Because I grew up. That stupid adolescent doesn't exist anymore. It was okay to be immature when I was 15 but by the time you're 18, you should be looking at becoming an adult. Go to work, no matter how menial it is. Do the best you can. Build a reputation in your community as hard working, responsible and reliable and you'll work your way out the entry level jobs into work that really contributes to your life, your family and your community and QUIT YOUR BELLYACHING. Be grateful for what you have and don't allow resentment of others fester into a pus filled boil, because you're envious of what they have and you don't. Grow up. You owe it to yourself, your family, your community and to your parents.

@Kim-sq9gp I've spent the last 10 years making toilet paper. Toilet paper. It's hot, dirty and involves long hours. I made decent money and YOU get to wipe your lazy butt. Don't think you'll miss my efforts? Wait till there's a run on toilet paper and you're using an old newspaper and you have to hoard those because there's no one out there wasting their life away providing the paper that you want so badly. You have no idea how lucky you are. My parents grew up without electricity, running water or toilet paper in a western country and not that long ago. It was people that wasted their lives building that infrastructure, doing the back breaking work so you can sit there and complain about their wasted lives. SMH.
