@larrycastaneda2822 I can't speak for Coleen but I do feel bad for the children. However, it's their parents who did this to them. Their parents know what the law is concerning immigration and they violated those laws. No different had they been growing weed or running a black market operation. They would be separated from their children then, as well and this is done hundreds of times every week. This is selective empathy.

@Sbhh1999 Had those so called native's ancestors had tried to move to Mississippi 500 years ago, they would have been butchered by the native tribes that were already living in Mississippi. Different groups of people have been fighting over land for thousands of years. No different in the land we call North American today. The natives of Mississippi would have looked upon these people moving in from Central America as invaders, as well. Just because they're not white doesn't mean that they're no longer human and don't have the same human tendencies of every other human society.

@Josh Potatoes Every country on the planet demands that a person show a passport upon entry and explain the reason for the visit. I challenge you, right now, to try to get into Spain or Iran without a passport. If you try, you will be detained. It's that simple. Anyone that has ever travelled outside the country knows this. It's no different when entering the US. If you try to cross into the US without going through the proper channels you're inviolation of Code 1325. You will be turned back or deported if caught. That is the standard for every nation on the planet.

@russk8091 A lack of empathy huh? It isn't the Trump supporters who are promising free health care and education, housing and welfare. It isn't Trump supporters that are offering sanctuary cities and states. These are the promises that are luring these migrants to the US, promises made by Trump detractors, all the while knowing that if those people that they've lured to the US get caught, they will be subject to being detained. They know full well that this has been the law and the policy for decades, even under Obama, but they don't care. Offer more promises, more bait to catch them so they can use them to make political points against Trump. If they're lucky, maybe one of them will even die. That's a real coup in their fight against Trump. Not one of them will ever say to those migrants, please don't make that trip. It's too dangerous for you and especially for the women and children, who are in the greater danger of physical and sexual abuse. Stay home until we can sort out what our new policies will be. Nope, they just increase the bait to lure the migrants to cross the borders and into those detainment camps. That's what I call lack of empathy. I'd never take my child through the perils of a desert and expose them to potential predators and then confined in detentions centres. I'd never encourage anyone to put their children through that. Not the left though. We'll give you more free stuff and if you get caught, we'll express our outrage against a president we don't like. They'll sacrifice their hardship to score political points. That's as cold hearted as it gets.
