@aksheezy :20 point. "It's actually really sad". Doesn't sound like their worthless. He's saying that it's not going to be easy to get off the streets. It's going to take tough decisions for the homeless and for ALL of us. In fact, the leaders in those cities are the ones who are treating the homeless as if they've no value. They're the ones who're NOT making the tough decisions and allowing this to get WORSE year after year. They do NOTHING. Not a thing. Why???? Because they're the ones the ultimately believe that these people aren't worth fighting for. They use them to point out the cruelty of America in allowing this to happen, all the while being the ones who are the leaders who do nothing and are the poster childs of the American cruelty they decry. It's their way to maintaining political power by tickling the "empathy" of their voting base. There's nothing empathetic about how the leaders in those cities are dealing with the homeless.

@MakKo-me3st You're correct. It's best to leave them on the street. That's what I'd want done with any family member who was suffering from mental illness. I'd be outraged to see them in a warm clean bed with good nutritious food, getting medical care and drug rehab. How DARE they!!!!! FREEDOM!!!!

@theworld6710 Explain WHY it's a terrible idea and then offer up what WOULD be an effective way to help them recover from mental illness and drug addiction. Until you do that, his idea is WAY better than yours.

@theworld6710 You haven't explained WHY it's ridiculous. Repeating the same thing over and over isn't evidence of why an idea has no merit. You have to back it up. One thing is evidently ridiculous. Allowing what's going on, in those cities, with NO plan to help them, solves nothing. It doesn't help the homeless, the crime that inevitably comes, or the average citizen who has to navigate the tragedy on those streets. Doing nothing is WORSE than his proposal and that's all that you're offering. If I throw a plastic straw on the street, I could be charged. These unfortunates aren't just spreading garbage everywhere, they're openly defecating and urinating everywhere. There are discarded needles everywhere, car windows are smashed, stores looted, ordinary people are threatened, businesses are closing and you, just like EVERY politician in those cities have absolutely NOTHING to alleviate the problem. You guys are the problem....more so than those on streets. All you do is criticise those who offer solutions and then sit on your hands and do *NOTHING*.

@marrisacoleman8509 Typical. I ask and no one explains. They just sit back, smug as can be, and imply that they KNOW but they aren't about to share that knowledge. NO WAY. Better that no one knows......right??? Do you know what I think? You have no idea why it's a bad idea but it just doesn't sound right and you've done nothing to prove otherwise.
