@jorelj7748 What do you think the stimulus package is? It's a modern version of the New Deal. The New Deal was in response to a crisis called the Great Depression. The stimulus package is in response to the Covid-19 crisis. Different times and a economic crisis from different sources but still powerful responses to terrible events. How anyone could be so dense as to not see that?

K41 Yes, it was and I get that. This stimulus is a plan to stave off a horrific depression that would ruin tens of millions of lives, not just in the US but around the world. A pre-emptive strike, so to speak, a first step to a New Deal, that wasn't taken in the Great Depression because the damage was already done. I guess, your solution would be to do nothing and let the depression come without any effort to prevent it. The "do nothing" approach.

@damarmar1001 Of course Trump "wanted" to open this weekend. Who didn't want that 3 weeks ago? He also said he would have to defer to the medical experts before he could do that and before we even reached this weekend, he decided to prolong the crisis policies to the end of April, upon advice from, guess who(?).....the medical experts. At the end of April, this decision will be revisited to see what should be done next. In fact, Trump has said, repeatedly, that saving lives comes first, THEN the economy. Maybe YOU should listen to EVERYTHING he says instead of only what you WANT to hear. Maybe then YOU'D have a "clue" to what is going on. Also, if a person can't make his mortgage payment, there are provisions that the payment will be deferred to the end of the mortgage contract. I'm wondering who is truly the idiot here. No one has to say that you have to like Trump or vote for him but at least get your facts straight before commenting.

mkbxtr44 There have been complaints of defective tests all over the world. Nepal, India, Australia, Japan....just to name a few. A brand new disease, only a couple of months old and you're surprised when things don't go perfectly. Rather shows that you've never had to deal with a crisis before.

mkbxtr44 In January, Trump organised a preliminary task force to look into the threat of the virus. On January the 31st, he announced travel restrictions from China to take effect on Feb 2nd. On Feb 4th, in the State of the Union address, the very one that Pelosi ripped up, he talked about the virus and how they were closely coordinating with China of the progress of the disease. So he was taking it seriously, already back in January. I can prove everyone of my statements if you wish. Also, he's NOT my president. I'm not an American. I'm Canadian but politics in the US greatly affects what happens here in Canada, more so than any other country in the world. In fact, I took my cue from the way that Trump was talking but also acting. When the Great Toilet Paper Panic struck, I was ready sitting comfortably on my couch. Too many people were hating on Trump instead of listening carefully and understanding what he was saying and doing.

@Scooters Videos Everyone could play that stupid game. What about watching CNN, the guys who brought you those horrific Catholic boys from Covington. The ones who were sure that Jussie Smollett was genuinely attacked. Man, that was smart. Or Don Lemon, offering the idea that the missing Malaysian Airline was swallowed up by a black hole. Or Don Acostas, continuously asking "when are going to stop beating your wife" type questions. Anyone, who doesn't do their own fact checking, no matter what network they watch, they're the dumb ones. Blindly listening to one person is the perfect path to brainwashing.

Nancy was asking for money for PBS, the Big Bird network. Money for the Kennedy Centre for the Fine Arts. Gender and racial equity of corporate boards. Tax breaks for solar and wind power. New emission standards for airlines. Do I have to go on? Not only was it too much, it has NOTHING to do with the Covid-19 crisis or the economic chaos that came with it. Too much and just plain stupid. This added money was to help small businesses who are facing bankruptcy because of the virus. Money to help PEOPLE who own those businesses and those who work for them. Your hatred of one person is so strangling that you can't even think straight or see how illogical your knee jerk responses really are.

@MobileMechanicatlanta I gave you examples of what was in the Democrat bill. Why can't you show me the same courtesy and show me what the Republicans have in their bill that has nothing to do with the coronavirus? That way I'd know what you're talking about and look into it and we'd have something to talk about.

@MobileMechanicatlanta YOU made the claim about unnecessary items in the Republican proposal. I didn't. Now you won't, or can't, give me ONE example to back up your claim. I expected as much. It's YOU that is confirming what I expected. I gave examples and you refuse. I don't blame you for being done. When you don't have the proof to back up your claims, you have no other option but to get the hell out.
