@jeremiahfitzwinkle323 It's not that she's anti-mask. She supports the idea of choice. The idea that you and I are mature enough to make that decision for ourselves, as well as any other measures that we might want to take. Generally, I avoid crowded places. I'm 70 years old and closer to the high risk demographic. I still go out once in awhile because I have the brain capacity to make that risk assessment and decide for myself. That's the problem with big government. They think that THEY know it all and should have the right to tell you and me how we should lead our lives. I have a great deal more faith in my own ability to think and decide as well as others. I don't feel that I have the right to tell others how they should live or how they should combat the virus. I wear a mask because it's the prudent thing to do in high risk areas. I think it's ridiculous to wear it at the beach or in my back yard and I refuse to wear it there. That should be my right and YOU shouldn't be able to force me to do otherwise because that's basically what's happening. It's people, like YOU, telling people what to do. That doesn't mean I'm anti-mask. It means I'm pro-freedom and I'm willing to take the calculated risk to protect that freedom. Life without freedom is an existence without life.

@jeremiahfitzwinkle323 Brilliant.....BRILLIANT!!!!!! I'm overwhelmed. You're like a Plato, a Descartes or a David Hume. You need your own school.

@BattManion1979 Well....Duh. It's a rural state. It happens a lot in the country. Low populations means fewer educational possibilities. I'm a country boy. If I wanted to become a specialist, when I was young, I'd have to go to the population centres where those prospective students gather to study. It would be like wanting to be major actor and never leaving Rockford, South Dakota. It's not going to happen unless you leave. That's the pattern of modern life. People aren't as interested to live in the legacy of the family farm, anymore. It has nothing to do with politics, at least not in South Dakota. It has to do with a changing economic reality in rural America, actually rural living in most industrialised nations. You've actually put little thought into that response or you've never lived in a rural setting.

@rpmangin How crazy is that? I'm glad they're not that strict where I live. I'm in Ontario, Canada and there are rules but when you're outdoors, you don't have to wear them. That's just common sense.

@jeremiahfitzwinkle323 Where did I ever say not to use a mask. I was just commenting on your little random soundbite that means nothing at all.

@rpmangin It's about the same way here. I live in a smaller town, about 20 thousand people and the most cases we've ever had was 7 or 8 cases at the same time and that's because they were housing those, who were returning from abroad and who were Covid cases, at a military base within town limits. Ontario had quite a rash of cases at the beginning of January and we were all in lockdown until 3 weeks ago. We can go to bars and restaurants now. The big joke around town is that they're allowing us to go to 5 additional places now. Aren't we lucky.
