Yugesh Gurung It is plenty strong enough to pull down a helium balloon. However, there is other air out there, too. Take a deep breath. Feel the air going into your lungs? That's air or gas, just like the helium in the balloon. That air is heavier than helium. Not only does the earth pull on the air but the air is pulling on the earth. Because the earth is so much heavier, its gravitational pull is a lot stronger than the air, and because air is so much heavier than helium, its pull to the earth is stronger than helium. So it pushes the helium balloon out of the way as it is being pulled towards the earth. That's why the helium balloon floats away. If you blow the balloon up with your own breath. The air inside the balloon is about the same weight per volume as the air outside the balloon. That's why it slowly falls to the earth. It's the weight of the balloon itself that's being pulled to the earth and not the air inside it. Warm air is lighter as it expands. That's why it's always warmer at the ceiling of a room. Hot air rises. The ground heats the air, the air starts to rise and other air moves in to take its place. That's what causes the wind This stuff is so simple that my 10 year old grand daughter understands it.

The guy spent 15 years in the US and another year and he can't speak English or French. Sounds like the kind of citizen we need in Canada.
