  1. Imminent domain is necessary in the huge projects that give us our highways, railroads, airports and the like. Without it, we'd never be able to take on the big projects that sustain a viable economy. It's not a policy in place so a PRIVATE developer can take your property so he can make a fortune. Imminent domain should only be enacted in the most extreme of cases. This case here smells of cronyism.
