@redwater4778 I knew that someone would try to deflect the blame onto someone else. I'm sure those Swedish Khmer Rouge supporters would have sent food....food that would NEVER enter the mouths of those who were really suffering. It would satiate the appetites of the Khmer soldiers, though, who needed their strength in order to do their horrific work quickly and efficiently. There is only one group to blame. Pol Pot and his minions are the guilty ones. Their supporters, outside of Cambodia, have to take a lot of the responsibility as well.

@andrewprindiville119 I think that the point was that the lyrics were horrific which reflected the mindset of those who sang those songs. That Swedes can understand Swedish is NOT the point. The point is that they knew the lyrics of those songs and supported them. THAT is the point.

@SwedishDrunkard5963 That vision of a communist Utopia is a delusion. It has never happened and is impossible to implement or support. It will always fall under its own hubris. A society based on envy is a society based on resentment, revenge and a never ceasing war on the enemies of the revolution. With all the examples we have of communist violence and destruction, it's beyond appalling that anyone would it even consider it a viable political system, anymore. Leave it to the academic intellectuals to rationalise all the misery and deaths that socialism has caused over the last 100 plus years.

@SwedishDrunkard5963 Yet, the most horrific times in 20th Century China, were during the Cultural Revolution. That's when they were trying to get rid of the "Four Olds". That was at the heart of Communism, the creation of a new socialist existence. Today's China is closer to Nazi Germany, another branch of Socialism. All you doing is saying that REAL communism has never been tried and we should never give up until we're either successful, which cannot happen, or completely destroyed.

When Chomsky did acknowledge that the killing was real, he blamed the Americans. This after calling it American propaganda until he couldn't deny the facts anymore. He supported Hugo Chavez in Venezuela, as well. He just refuses to learn from his mistakes, it indeed they are mistakes. He's too vested in ideology to ever find fault in it. An extremely dangerous man.

@lightsinthedarkness If the rebels take over in Syria, things will not get any better. The US should never have supported the Arab Spring. It killed untold thousands of people. The effects of it will last decades.
