  2. I'm reading "The Cowshed, Memories of the Chinese Cultural Revolution". What's happening right now, in the US, and supported by the Democrat Party, is so reminiscent of that horrific time in China. The cancel culture, critical race theory, the forced apologies for white privilege, the search through internet history to find commenting indiscretions, all things that would have been deemed necessary during the Cultural Revolution. You can't even shame them with it as many are avowed Marxists. The entire thing is unbelievable.

  3.  @newtles7626  Republicans don't use the full force of the state because that's the very thing that they hate and are fighting against. It would be hypocritical to be for free speech and quelling it at the same time. It takes a confused mind to live in that kind of reality.

  8.  @newtles7626  BS. The South fired on Fort Sumter. They actually declared war on the US. Lincoln did nothing until there was a military, with guns, attacking American installation. That was an act of war. I never once said to NEVER fight back. I said not to behave in the manner that they're behaving. We're not at war although we do have some major disagreements. You fight when attacked. You don't start the war....you finish it. Comparing human rights and freedoms to someone cheating in a football game doesn't wash. If they cheat in a game, you don't play with them. You play with integrity or you don't play. Let them be the a-holes. I'm not about to become one.

  9.  @remielpollard787  If I painted on a stretch of wall, without being commissioned and maybe even against the will of the owner of that wall, I'd keep my mouth shut if they painted over my picture. They have as much right as I did when I drew my art piece, which may well mean that I had no right to do it in the first place. His addition is as much vandalism as mine was when I did it.

  13.  @Svoorhout85  Worse. It was accepted in a scientific journal that prints academic papers and passed peer review. Three academics did it to show just how badly eroded the peer review system had become around gender and race studies. I'd say that they succeeded. Google "Grievance studies affair". Lots of material on it. They sure upset a lot of the new cultural warriors.
