  2. I think his point is that if you don't have the talent or drive to succeed you'll not be able to take advantage of the hand up. It can work but it seldomly leads to that top success if you don't have the ability in your specific field. That's what Weinstein did. He spotted the talent and then offered them the road to success in exchange for sexual favours. Those who didn't have the talent would just fade away into obscurity. The talented would get the success that they craved.

  3. @Alex T In other words, talent has NO bearing on success. Why is everything so extreme for some people. "I know a girl....." and that is now the standard to financial and social success. Of course it can help. However, if 2 immigrant trainers and body builders, think that they can find fame and fortune in acting, with little to no talent, by doing favours for a D-list actor, they're fooling themselves. Jussie doesn't have the clout that they think he does. Even if he did, a couple of acting roles would show whether they have that talent or whether they're a pair of wanna-bes. Jussie isn't their dad, doting over his spoiled sons. He's just a guy taking advantage of their naivete.
