  1. My dad grew up in WW2 Holland. He saw all kinds of Nazi soldiers and even had Canadian soldiers stay in the barn of the family farm as they mopped up operations in his area. Yet, my father never heard one gunshot fired in anger. I've concluded that WW2 was mostly peaceful.
